56 | THE STOLEN NECKLACE

When the emperor caught wind of what happened at Louisette's tea party, he couldn't help but feel proud of his half-sister's descendant. He laughed hard when his right-hand man told him of what happened that day.

"Emperor Cairo, please stop laughing. This is a serious matter! The tea party is not only for useless parties but it's about the connection between Empires! It has become Master Lucia's rule." His right-hand man said almost hopelessly because Emperor Cairo won't stop laughing.

"Nah, don't worry about that. The other aristocrats won't say a word when it comes to my half-sister's Descendant." He reassures.

"Are you sure? Because I can clearly remember that Lady Elyse Valentina has been bullied many times back at Aracnia Empire!" His right-hand man said almost losing his patience with the emperor.

Emperor Cairo left a soft chuckle, "Don't worry. Whatever happened that day at the tea party, everyone won't dare to lay a hand on her again unless you're really shameless to mess with Aniya's Descendant." He spoke as if he trusts Elyse so much.

The right-hand man couldn't say anything to talk back to him but sighed in defeat. Just like Aniya, Emperor Cairo is also stubborn.

"I guess they're really siblings," The right-hand man said in his thoughts.

Meanwhile, Elyse couldn't help but feel nervous. They say Emperor Cairo is a scary man like Aniya but days have passed, and Emperor Cairo didn't call her presence instead Louisette was called. That day, she was sipping tea in her room. The maids admired Elyse as if she was not scared even a tiny bit of being called by the emperor. The maids call her "Aniya" in their conversation too since she now resembles Aniya in many ways.

But deep inside Elyse still feels anxious about Emperor Cairo calling her presence and scolding her for what she's done at the tea party. Elyse knows very well that those kinds of parties between aristocrats build relationships that can help their business. And Elyse just ruined it.

The old Master, Lucia did everything she can just to reunite and rebuild the relationships between Kingdoms and Empires from the wrecked hands of The Olympian Aristocrats and of course, Vierra.

And Elyse felt that she just ruined the hard work Lucia did.

Elyse sat down beside her bedroom window staring at the leaves falling down from the tree as the wind gently caress her hair. Elyse took a deep sigh.

"What to do..." She embraces her legs as if she hugs herself comfortably. Her hair played with the wind and reaches to the other side of the window — a room beside her room.

Meanwhile, beside Elyse's room, it was Chad's special room that was made by Emperor Cairo for Chad's family. While he was staring at his blank canvas, a flock of hair flew right into his window room. He quickly recognizes it was Elyse's hair because of its color.

He smiled and stood up from his seat and leaned on the window.

"Hey," Chad shouted which made Elyse jump out of shock from her window.

"You scared the hell out of me!" Elyse commented and Chad burst into laughter.

"Sorry, my bad! I just thought your hair is pretty." He compliments Elyse's hair which made her feel chills down her spine.

"Damn, are you a pervert?" Chad flinched at her question.

"I'm not. Anyway, what's the problem?" Chad asked, trying to change the topic after Elyse roasted him by asking if he was a pervert or not.

"Oh... Nothing." She softly answered now leaning onto the window and staring at the beautiful view of Rahania's Capital City. Chad fell into silence as he stares at Elyse's face, examining her expression.

"There's a problem, isn't it?" He said almost in a whisper.

"Care to tell me what is it?" Chad continues to gently speak with her and Elyse was stunned.

"It's... really not that of a problem. I'm just worried about Emperor Cairo." Elyse admitted and Chad's eyebrow arched, interested.

"Oh? Why is that?"

"It's because of what happened at the tea party. I should've let them go... But they're too much. Insulting me right in front of me. It wasn't even direct; they keep choosing fancy words and laughing their asses out just to insult me." Elyse continues to tell Chad what happened that day and he couldn't help but chuckle.

"I'm really sorry for laughing, it's just too cute." He said while wiping the tears from his eyes.

"You literally taught those ladies a lesson. But I find it hard Louisette will really learn a lesson from what you did to her, I'm afraid she'll do more evil against you." Chad said trying to calm himself from laughing way too hard.

"Sigh, I don't care about that right now. What I care about right now is Emperor Cairo scolding me." Elyse said with worry in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Elyse." She looked up at him and Chad gave a soft smile to her.

"You're Emperor Cairo's half-sister descendant. He will never do that to you. Besides, it's great that you're finally taking a step to be strong, Elyse." He said with his words gently spoke towards her and it made her heart flutter.

He looks so handsome by just smiling.

"And I hope you'll smile more." A fragment of memory came into her mind as if it were her own.

"I love your smile, your cheekiness, your laugh. I love the way you care, the way you protect everyone and me. I love you, Thaddeus. But you were never mine, to begin with. I hope, in our next life — we're destined to be with each other again." A woman said in her mind-like thought as flashbacks of "Thaddeus" entered her head.

The fragmented memory felt like it was hers. It felt painful but beautiful memories of them.

"Elyse? Are you okay?" Chad interrupted her train of thought and Elyse quickly nodded her head.

"A-ah yeah is that so? Haha! Then I should get going..." Elyse quickly shuts down her window and leaned on her glass window closed.

Elyse's tears start to fall down from her eyes as if the pain is overbearing. Maybe Aniya loves someone too much that she lets him go. And Elyse hopes for the two of them to have a reunion.

The Grand Ball is in 2 days and Elyse didn't come out of her room and only read books so she couldn't get bored. In the midst of reading her favorite book, a flashback came into her mind and she saw Louisette sneaking inside the Imperial Library and taking out a necklace.

"What necklace?" The one she saw in her mind was blurred as if it was something she shouldn't know unless she looks at it in person. Elyse thought she was only imagining things because of what happened at the tea party, but knowing Louisette also has the possibility that she will do what she saw in her mind.

Her guts were telling her to check into the Imperial Library. Elyse has the greatest access to the Imperial Library of Rahania because of her Ancestor Aniya. And because she is the future Alpha of Wisdom.

In the end, she decided to follow her guts and when the night came, she sneakily enters the Imperial Library. After she entered the library, nothing seems to be wrong. So, she explores further until she reached the room where the ancient necklace was kept in carefully.

Her eyes widen in shock to see the necklace missing from its glass box. It's just like what she just saw in her mind.

"I have the ability to see the future," Aniya's voice entered her mind.

"I can also speak through you using your mind connecting mine." She continues.

"Then ... Are you telling me that what I just saw in my mind happened? earlier?" Elyse asks and she felt something hugging her from behind.

"Yes," The voice felt like an echo in her mind, and Elyse gulps.

"What should I do?"

"That's my question, what SHOULD you do?" Aniya told her and it sparked something inside Elyse.

This crime is apparent. The incident of the tea party days ago and her silence for days after that incident — she's Louisette Hildegarde, and she will do anything to make Elyse pay for what her ancestor did. She clenches her fist, she won't let Louisette ruin her again.

The treatment Louisette gave her is unfair. Everyone treats her unfairly.

And so, she will make them pay.

So, she left the room as if nothing happened. She looked around and saw a magical camera on the walls, Elyse's eyes glows and puts her hand into the air as if she were casting a spell. She then walked away, leaving the place nothing happened.

The next day, the news of the legendary necklace being stolen spread like wildfire across the Rahania Empire and all the guests of the other Kingdom. This news was uncontrollable and even Emperor Cairo couldn't keep the rumors in secret. After all, the necklace is worn by a goddess and an alpha.

The future alphas felt alerted and Louisette led the army in search of the missing necklace and the criminal who stole it. Elyse also participated in the investigation by using her wisdom from her Ancestor — all of the future Alphas participated.

Meanwhile, Princess Sarah sat down in her window admiring the scorching beauty of Rahania and its people. The winter palace is where she was born and raised so places like these with changing weather are rare for her.

"She participated in the investigation?" Princess Sarah spoke softly while brushing the fur of her white leopard.

"Yes, Princess. It seems that Alpha Aniya is back with controlling Elyse." Princess Sarah only smirked.

"She didn't control Elyse, Nana." Princess Sarah spoke with a chuckle. She was excited to see what will happen next.
