When Jeb returned home following a long day of business meetings with a client, he noticed there was no one at home.
He didn't think much of it; perhaps they went out to pass the time. However, when the hours passed and Laura and Joan had not returned home, he got concerned.
He continued calling her phone, but each time it went straight to her voicemail. He next investigated all of the likely places Laura could visit while driving throughout the city, but neither she nor Joan were anywhere.
Then he remembers Crystal, but when he arrived at Crystal's house to ask if they might be there to spend the night, he learned that Crystal hadn't talked or seen her in a while.
By daylight, Jeb was in a frenzy. He decided to call the police to report them missing.
