7 Last Harbour

"Hopefully, you're one of the few women expecting me to be," Ken ventured.

"If so, how about it?" Lidya asked.

"I'll be very happy if that happens. Because, since a few months ago, I've been harboring my feelings for you." Ken looked deeply into Lidya's two beautiful eyes.

"Why is it only now..." Lidya stopped her words because of the arrival of two waiters who came to bring the food and drinks that Ken and Lidya had ordered.

Lidya waited until the two waiters left, after which she asked again, "Why are you moving now?"

The real reason should have been the arrival of Tony who brought news about his sick father and his mother's position as the leader of the company that was vulnerable to being replaced by his second uncle, but, since Ken couldn't say the reason, therefore, Ken just said, "maybe the universe arranged it, so that only now I can say it. One thing is for sure, only God knows how much I wish for your love."

Lidya was silent. Ken's last words, which Ken said with sincerity, were felt so strongly in Lidya's ears that it made Lidya touched. Ken's words had touched her heart, causing her to immediately fall silent and stare intently at Ken.

"So. What do you say?" asked Ken when he saw Lidya still silent and voiceless.

"Do you want to hear my answer?" asked Lidya after successfully holding back the turmoil of her heart.

"Yes. I'd love to hear it."

"I'll just say that I'm mad at you."

"Huh? How can you be angry?" Lidya's answer was unexpected by Ken, who felt that Lidya was on the same page as him.

"Because the words like what you said earlier, when you said only God knows that, you should have said it a few months ago. I wanted to hear it from a few months ago. Why are you only saying such beautiful things now? Why do you keep putting it off?"

Ken smiled at Lidya's words. From initially thinking that Lidya was really angry with him, Ken could now smile with relief at Lidya's words. "I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry. But, you shouldn't make a girl wait that long."

"It started because I was hesitant, Lidya. That's why, for so many months, I hesitated to approach you."

"Hesitated why?"

"Because you're a moderately successful broker, while I'm just a nobody. My job..."

"Not all women look at their man's status and occupation. I'm one of those women who doesn't see that. I only see the sincerity of the man. I just look at his nature, whether he's good or not. Because in high school, I was traumatized when I was dating a man, a son of a rich family, but he thought he was too good for just one woman. Because of that, he cheated on me with several women behind my back until I happened to find out and broke off my relationship with him."

"I'm not like that guy. In fact, I have been disappointed by two women whom I loved at two different times but then they left me for other men," Ken said.

"Then our fates are the same."

"Yes. Our fates are the same." Ken looked at Lidya and held her hand. "I hope, you become my last harbor of love."

Lidya held Ken's hand back. For months now, Lidya had had a crush on Ken. Almost every day she hoped he would start moving closer to her. But, it didn't happen until just now.

"You haven't answered my question. Will you make me happy? Will you love me back?" Ken asked again because Lidya hadn't answered his question.

"I will." Lidya smiled sweetly at Ken.

"Thank you. You really brightened my heart."

"Eat first." Lidya pointed at the fried rice Ken had ordered.

Ken immediately ate with a happy heart because he felt Lidya's sincere love. A woman who would accept a man who came from the lower class and only had a simple job like Ken, was an extraordinary thing.

In the past, the women who had dated Ken had all accepted him because he was a member of the Wong Family, the richest family in Hong Kong with assets from America, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, mainland China, India and all over Southeast Asia.

But, the two women who had dated Ken, still had the heart to betray Ken behind his back, playing crazy with other men while carrying Ken's property.

Ken felt that his wealth was a curse to him, because he didn't meet women who loved him for who he was but instead met matre women who only wanted to exploit his wealth but never loved him.

Ken felt that his status as a member of a wealthy family was a curse for him, because women approached him only for his wealth but never really loved him.

That's why Ken deliberately ran away from his family, escaped from his family's luxurious life and lived a difficult life as a cleaning service so that he could meet a woman who truly loved him because Ken appeared in front of the woman without the frills of his family name and company name.

Because for Ken, having a woman who truly loves him, is something very luxurious that he didn't have before.

Ken has a lot of wealth. Ken owns companies under his own name owns several magnificent buildings under his name, owns several sports cars, owns private jets and even owns satellites in space that he leases to other companies and also to his own company, but, for a long time, his heart was empty without the woman he craved.

Now, after struggling to build his image as a poor man who only works as a cleaning service, Ken finally finds a girl who can accept him for who he is, a girl who is not materialistic and most importantly, loves Ken unconditionally. This is what makes Ken happy.

After eating, Lidya said, "I have something to say."

"What is it?"

"Look, I accept you as you are. Tomorrow, I will introduce you as my girlfriend and I'm not ashamed. It's just that I also want you to advance. So, starting tomorrow, I'll try to get you into the stockbroker team under me. How about it?"

"But, I'm afraid of embarrassing you. I'm just a cleaning service. Of course I don't know about how the stock market works," Ken lied.

In the past, when he was still working at his family's company, Ken made many of his family's rival companies confused by Ken's stock trading strategy.

"I already do. I'll teach you later. I'll go to the restroom first." After that, Lidya headed towards the restroom.

Ken smiled and continued to stare at Lidya as she went to the restroom.

Suddenly, someone in a waiter's outfit approached Ken and said, "That means, tomorrow, that Miss Lidya, we can take to Hong Kong."
