13 Condescending Look

By this time, Lidya had invited Ken to meet some of her relatives. Lidya was very happy when Ken was praised by some of his relatives that the tall, athletic and handsome Ken was very compatible with Lidya and was the right match for Lidya.

"Yes, Lidya. You two are very compatible. One is beautiful and slim. One is tall and handsome. You are the best couple at this party," said Tirza, Lidya's cousin who is close to Lidya.

Lidya looked at Ken who was being praised by Tirza and the others. Lidya had to admit that her initial liking for Ken was because of his good looks, tall and athletic body and charming smile, so getting support from Tirza and her other cousins made Lidya love Ken even more.

But, Ken's kindness, which Lidya understood more and more as she got closer to Ken in these last days, made Lidya admire Ken even more, Lidya loved Ken even more.

After that, Lidya brought Ken to meet his grandmother on the stage that was specially made for this anniversary event.

"Oma. This is Ken." Lidya touched her grandmother's hand.

Lidya's uncle, Kumala, now shook Ken's hand and asked Lidya. "Is this your girlfriend that you told me about?"

Ken was flattered that Lidya immediately recognized him as her boyfriend and didn't shy away or hide the matter. Ken was also proud that Lidya had told Kumala about herself.

"Yes, oma. I already know about that. You don't need to explain it to me anymore."

"I'm not explaining this to you, Lidya. But, I am explaining this to your boyfriend."

Lidya and Ken looked at each other and both laughed.

"Don't laugh." Kumala looked at Ken while holding Ken's hand. "Listen to oma. You must continue to fight for your love for Lidya. Don't give up easily. You must fight for Lidya and for the love between the two of you. Understand?"

Ken immediately fell silent at Kumala's words.

"What do you mean? How can you be so serious?" Lidya looked at Kumala attentively.

"Nothing. I'm just saying that. Hehehe." Kumala let go of Ken's hand. "But, for Ken, I hope these words of oma can be remembered. "Kumala gave Ken a mysterious look.

"Ih, you're acting like a fortune teller again. Always like that. You once predicted that the cendol man would marry Mbak Sulis, our housekeeper, but in the end, the cendol man married the housekeeper next door." Lidya protested.

"Prophecies don't always come true. The cobbler chose another. But, if only he had stayed with Sulis and not been tempted by others, I'm sure he would have been happy."

"Is he not happy?" asked Lidya curiously.

"The proof is that for the past month, he's been calling Sulis. That's a sign that he's not happy with his choice. That's why you two mustn't make the wrong move. That's all. There are guests coming here." Kumala immediately moved his right hand away from Ken and Lidya.

Lidya immediately took Ken downstairs. It was at that moment that Ken noticed that things were not the same in this room as before. If before many pairs of eyes seemed to be looking at Ken in a friendly manner, now it was the opposite.

Right now, there were many pairs of eyes staring at Ken with a condescending look. Ken was already familiar with this kind of look, because during this year, since Ken became an office cleaning service officer, there were many looks like this that he received. That is, condescending looks.

Ken became familiar with these looks when he noticed the presence of Ardy, Alex and Heri in each group of people. It seemed that those 3 people were spreading the gossip virus about Ken.

Ken was even more convinced of that when he saw Ardy talking to some of the guests and then Ardy and some of the guests, looking at Ken and their looks looked condescending.

The guests at the event were, in fact, mostly Lidya's siblings and friends of Lidya's parents outside the Mulia Investment and Securitas stock office, where Lidya and her father worked. Because of this, most of the guests at the anniversary event did not recognize Ken and therefore, they were very surprised when Ardy and his two men arrived with the information that Ken was the cleaning service at Mulia Investment and Securitas.

The photos were taken from the office's website, where there are profiles of almost all Mulia Investment and Securitas employees.

Because of this, the information brought by Ardy and his two subordinates was immediately swallowed up by the majority of guests in the downstairs living room as well as the upstairs living room, which belonged to Lidya's family, so that a condescending look at Ken began to occur.
