The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Having a good time together.

It was late when Christopher came back home. He was tired and lay down, making her lap the pillow, his arms around her waist. He was too lazy to go freshen up and eat something.

Abigail massaged his scalp gently, a smile lingering on the corners of her lips.

"Why don't you go and wash up? I will bring your food here."

He did not answer or move, showing that he was unwilling to do anything she suggested. He was enjoying lying like this and feeling her fingers on his scalp.

"Aren't you hungry?" she asked.

"I am."

"Then go and freshen up. Change your clothes."

"Bathe me." He lifted his head to look at her, a smirk playing on his lips.

She stared at him with astonishment, mouth agape. "You are not tired when it comes to sex."

"It gives me pleasure. Why would I get tired of it?" His eyes gleamed with mischief.

"Huh?"

His answer astounded her. He didn't look as if he was tired before.
