Chapter 22
TWO MONTHS LATER...
"Come on, guys!
"We only have three days left!" Delicia said.
She yelled, "Lucy, Lisa, Jane, Amy, Rose, Macy, Rina, Gabby, Courtney, and Angel!
"Alayna's wedding is in three days.
"Do you girls know that?"
The girls nodded as Amy responded, "We got it!
"Can you stop yelling?"
Delicia said, "Get to work; you're all accountable for something.
"I'll accompany her while she chooses her wedding gown.
"And guys, please don't let her down!
"You understand how much this means to her,"
Delicia went up to look for Alayna after the girls nodded.
She sees her on the bed.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Delicia asked.
Alayna responded, "I'm so nervous."
"When was the last time you had sex?" Delicia asked.
Alayna responded, "This is not funny!"
She responded, "I know.
"I'm just trying to cheer you up."
Delicia sat beside her and said, "Look, it's okay to feel nervous, babe.
"Everyone gets nervous about marrying!
"Come one, let's go get you that dress.
"It might cheer you up!"
Alayna smiled and said, "Thanks, Delicia."
Delicia held her hand as they headed downstairs once she stood up.
Delicia said, "It must be difficult to climb these steps.
"I suggest you have a bed downstairs.
Alayna said, "It is!
"Dominique and I talked about this last night."
"Great!
"Alright, let's go," Delicia responded.
Alayna was driven to the store by her.
They got out of the vehicle and entered the store.
Delicia got in touch with the owner since they custom-made a dress for her.
They assisted her in changing into her wedding dress.
As he stood in front of the mirror, she said, "Oh my God!
"This is beautiful!"
One of the employees said, "You're slaying pregnancy, girl!
"Oh wow!"
Delicia said, "You look like a goddess!
"Dominique is going to fall in love with you twice."
She received praise from everyone, giving her the confidence to rock that dress.
After fitting her dress, she put on her clothes and prepared to leave.
Delicia drove her back home.
They returned, and the girls were busy setting everything for the wedding and rehearsal dinner.
When Alayna went inside, Delicia suggested that she take a nap.
She shook her head and said, "Are you getting rid of me?"
She laughed and responded, "I'm not!
"Just take a nap."
Alayna sighed and said, "Fine, I will.
"But if you need me, let me know."
"I got this, girl!" Delicia responded.
THE REHEARSAL DINNER...
Alayna prepared to join everyone.
Dominique approached her and said, "You look splendid, darling.
"In a couple of hours, you'll be my wife."
She smiled and said, "I'm not sure if I'll like the term 'husband' better than 'daddy,' you know."
He kissed her and smiled.
"Come on, let's go meet everyone."
They both descended the stairs while he was holding her.
In a corner, the females were standing and chatting with each other.
They turned and spotted her, "Oh my god
"There's our bride-to-be!"
Alayna approached them and gave each of them a hug.
"Thanks for coming!
"You're the only family I have on my side."
Delicia responded, "At least you got someone.
"Not one, but ten that cares about you."
She smiled and hugged Delicia.
"I'll catch up later with you guys.
"Let me go meet his family," Alayna said.
Before they all sat down for supper, she went to his parents and said hello to them.
"You look lovely.
"The pregnancy looks good on you."
Dominique's mother said.
As everyone sat down and started to eat, she smiled.
They conversed, made speeches, and even exchanged gifts.
The dinner was over.
People began to leave.
Delicia approached her and said, "Your big day is a couple of hours away.
"You need to have a good night's rest.
"I'll come as soon as I wake."
She hugged Delicia and said, "Thank you so much.
"I loved how you've made everything easy."
"What are best friends for
"I know you'd do the same for me, so I don't mind.
"Enough of the talk now!
"The girls and I are about to leave.
"Good night Alayna."
Alayna went over to help with cleanup as they departed.
"We got this.
"You should rest," The maid said.
She smiled as Dominique said, "I agree.
"You should rest.
"Come on, let's go."
He guided her up the stairs while holding her hand.
She changed into her pajamas as soon as they entered the room.
She said to him, "Dominique, thank you."
He asked, "For what?"
She responded, "Thank you for showing me, love.
"I'm so happy.
"I wish that we continue being happy in the future.
"I love you so much."
She kissed him.
He hugged her and said, "Don't worry, darling.
"I'll do my best to make you happy.
"I would never make you feel less or alone.
"I swear on my life that I will always be here."
They held each other for a few .
He said, "Come on.
"Let's get some rest."
She gradually fell asleep as he lay next to her.
