GOING TO THE COUNCIL
Noah's restless night was consumed by thoughts of the impending summon between Richmond and the council. The weight of uncertainty hung heavily in the air, and as dawn broke, he couldn't bear the anticipation any longer. Rising from his bed at six in the morning, he made his way to his son's room.
A brisk knock preceded Noah's entrance, revealing Richmond sitting on the bed, his gaze fixated on his father.
Richmond rolled his eyes, he didn't need his father's presence this early. He was still shaken by the bird's words, "Why don't you ever wait for permission? You knock and you enter without permission," In response to Noah's uninvited intrusion, Richmond questioned his perpetual lack of permission-seeking.
"You keep repeating yourself, if you want me to wait you should lock your door first," Noah, undeterred, retorted that if Richmond desired privacy, he should simply lock the door.
