Cheyenne's POV
It's the first day of my freshman year of college, and I'm dreading it. Not because of your typical freshman fears of being picked on or what not, but because my older brother, Tyler, is a senior this year. I had graduated high school a year early so I was only 17 years old. We come from an Omega family so none of us are as "buff" as the higher-ranking families, so we had to rely on our smarts. My brother made it very well known every time he saw me that I was his little sister, and nobody was to touch me. It was so humiliating. Tyler, being the charming and charismatic person that he is, was able to make his way into the "inner circle" with the Alpha's son, Damon, back in middle school. They sparred with each other in training every day and worked out together on the weekends.
Even though I was the runt in the family, literally the runt at only 5'-3" and 115 pounds, I held my own weight against them (there was 8 of us kids all together). I had made the cheer team and was becoming friends with some of the upper classmen. Some of the girls didn't approve of the coach's decision and made it very well known but I'm the type of person who doesn't take anything personal, but rather I used that negative energy as fuel to prove why the coach made a good choice. I started training with my older brother every morning before school and on weekends when he wasn't hanging out with his buddies.
"Ty, I need more training time. I'm not…buffing up." I called out to my brother down the hall.
"Cheyenne, it's only been a couple months and you're already toning up and you've gained muscle mass. It took me like 8 months to get what you got now!" Tyler reminds me for the umpteenth million time. "Once you shift, you'll be able to bulk up more quickly with the enhanced strength." He winks at me as he walks away, heading downstairs to get some breakfast.
"MOM!!! Just reminding you that I won't be home tonight after school. I'm heading over to Kira's to get some extra practice on our cheer routine." I yell back over my shoulder as I'm walking out the door.
I was walking down the sidewalk, my head in the clouds thinking about my birthday coming up which meant finally being able to shift. I was heading towards the school when I ran smack into the back of some guy I've never seen before. It felt like I hit a brick wall. This guy had to be every bit of 6'-3" give or take. He had brown hair that was slightly longer on top and buzzed around the sides. His eyes looked like big bowls of honey, as they stared down glaring at me. It almost felt like he was trying to look into my soul. His muscles were ripped from head to toe, at least what I could see of him anyways. He had tribal tattoos going up both arms, with a wolf howling at a full moon on his right forearm.
"I'm sorry. Excuse me. I wasn't paying attention to…" I stumbled out, but I couldn't finish when he cut me off with a low growl and rolled his eyes and turned and walked away. "Damn, who pissed in your cheerio's this mornin, ass-monkey?" I mumbled under my breath. I must have said it louder than I thought; I did have a bad habit of not being able to keep my mouth shut. Momma always says I have no filter and my mouth was going to get me in trouble someday. This mystery guy spins around and grabs my arm hard, making me stumble and almost fall on my ass.
"What did you just say?" His voice low and husky, that sexy sound that just makes you week in your knees. Once again, there I was staring into those swirling bowls of honey, lost in them.
'Holy sweet mother of baby Jesus! What is wrong with me?! You don't even know this guy and here you are drooling over him.' I thought to myself, and I shook my head to get my head to focus.
"Fuck off and get the hell off of me!" I said as serious and sternly as I could.
"Great we're going to die because you couldn't keep your mouth shut." This random voice in my head said. I didn't pay it any attention though being too focused on what was going on. About that same time, I hear Ty shouting and I look over to see him and Damon running across the parking lot towards me. Both having already shifted, had that inhuman speed, and made it across the parking lot and to my side in seconds. Damon gets up in this random dude's face causing him to let go of me.
"We have a problem here?" Damon looks between me and him.
"No Damon. It's fine." I say, but I should've known that wasn't going settle it.
"Fine? He had his hands on you! That is not fine!" Ty's face is turning red from anger, and I can see his eyes changing color.
"Just a misunderstanding. Sorry miss." Awe that husky voice again. Good lord, what is wrong with me?!
"Ty, Damon, everything is fine. Besides I can handle myself." I shrug Ty off my shoulder and start walking into school.
I get into my first class, pysch101, which I share with Kira. I go straight towards her and sit in the seat next to her in the back of the class.
"Bitch where you been?" Kira gives me a questioning look.
"Who you calling bitch, bitch?" I chuckle at her trying to avoid talking about what just happened.
About halfway through class, the door opens and who walks in? None other than the guy I ran into not 2 hours ago.
"Ughhh FUCK!" I whisper to myself.
"What? Do you know him?" Kira asks.
"Well, enough to call him an ass-monkey and tell him to fuck off, but other than that…Nope. Sure don't." I throw my head back, looking up at the ceiling and sliding down in my chair.
"WHAT?!" Kira's eyes the size of baseballs.
"Explain later?" I plead with my eyes.
"I want all the details" she says as she turns back towards the front of the class. I groan but nod my head in agreement. All of a sudden there's a sharp pain in my side. I look down only to find Kira is poking my side hard with her pen. When I look up at her, she nods her head to the right, telling me to look. I slowly look over to my right and,
"Holy fuck! You've got to be KIDDING ME!!!" I say threw gritted teeth while sinking back down in my seat.
