"So...what's the plan?"
"I say we poison his wine at the ball next week."
"What if they find out? Or the drink gets switched?"
"What evidence will they have to pitpoint us?"
"I don't know, but still, if he finds out, we're as good as dead. Plus, he will be around the king during the whole ball."
"We can take him down silently, there's two of us and he's one."
"How would we even do that? Do you have any idea what that man did?"
"I heard some stories."
"Maybe we can poison him as well as the king."
"He doesn't drink alchohol, you idiot."
"What a cuck."
"Shut up. He is far stronger than us."
"But we have more influence, right? We can perform a coup."
"For that we need to spread the word without him or the king hearing it."
"Not an issue. I'd assume most of the nobles are dissatisfied with the king's recent treatment of the otherworlder. I'm sure they all feel the same way."
"That would still be risky. Maybe we can stage an accident?"
"The king barely leaves the castle."
"If you're acting smart, tell me how we should kill him."
"I'll talk with some other nobles and we'll do a coup. That's our best bet. Then, we can bring the princess to the throne and make her our puppet."
"Make sure no one finds out."
"Same to you."
-----------------------------------------------------------
It's been a week since Ryuu was employed to the castle. Everyday he woke up at 5:00, trained with Zych for an hour, then set the tables and preformed other butler work until 12:00, then had free time until 16:00, when his scheduled magic lesson was. After that he set the tables for dinner, and after that he was allowed to sleep. It was tiresome, but he kept going as he looked forward to the magic lessons everyday. Mira also seemed to enjoy his company, as she stopped stuttering when talking with Ryuu. Also, there was gonna be a royal ball held in the castle in 6 days, so the preperations were already in making.
Today during his free time, he strolled in the library. He was interested in something the king mentioned a while ago. Something about an overworlder 200 years ago, who caused so much harm that people are afraid of all the otherworlders now. Sitting at the library table was Mira, reading a book.
"Hey Mira." Ryuu casually greeted her.
"Oh, hi Ryuu! The lesson is in two hours, why are you here?"
"Say, are there any books about otherworlders? Specifically the one that appeared 200 years ago?"
"Oh, um...I'm sure there is." She got up from the table and went throught the history books. She grabbed one and handed it to Ryuu.
"Hey Mira. Is it true that people are afraid of me?"
"Well yeah. With a good reason, too."
"But why aren't you afraid, then?"
Mira seemed suprised by this sudden question. She then laughed it off a bit and smiled.
"How could I be afraid of my own disciple? What kind of a tutor would I be? Plus, you can't never eat apples again just cause you ate a rotten one once."
"I see. Do you mind if I sit next to you?"
"Not at all."
The two continued on, studying together in the library.
So that otherworlder's name was Dymie. It says he possesed the talent to use dark and light magic. When he turned 'possesed', he ended up murdering over 2 000 000 people, which was 20% of the global population at the time. The team of heroes who managed to stop him was called 'Divine Punishment'. It says his power was so great, that the battle between them lasted 10 hours. Sounds terrifying.
"Are there any otherworlders beside me at the moment?"
Mira seemed suprised by the sudden break from the silence, but happy to answer the question.
"Not in Rygerenn. However, some say there's one in Teppalonia, living as a rogue."
"Teppalonia? Where's that?"
"It's the kingdom next to ours from the east."
When I think about it, since coming here I haven't seen much of the country besides the castle. I'd love to see some new places.
"How are Rygerenn's relations with Teppalonia?"
"Oh right, perhaps no one told you, but we've been in war for the past 10 years."
"Huh? What for?"
"You see, the king of Teppalonia, Pylos, and our king, Leurupus, are cousins. King Leurupus' grandfather married his daughter off to the king of Teppalonia from back then. So, since Pylos shares Rygerenn blood, and is older than Leurupus, he believes he owns the right to the throne."
"Do you think he's in the right?"
"If I did, I'd be executed.", she laughed. "Plus, our king is nice, as you saw yourself.", Mira said.
"Does the king only plan on using me for war? What will happen afterwards?"
"He would probably send you to calm down rebellions, if any occur. Or if any outbreaks of monsters appear."
"So...I'm just gonna be used for fighting?"
"He took you in, be a bit more grateful."
"I'm gonna run his errands until the day I die? Be a tool used only when needed, then thrown away when not usable anymore?"
Mira stood up from the table, visibly frustrated.
"Leave." Mira said.
"Huh?" Ryuu was confused.
"I need to focus on studying, plus I need to prepare the lesson for today. And you're distracting me. So, I would ask you to leave."
Ryuu was shocked by her words. But as he didn't want to anger her more, he complied. Mira was now sitting in the library all alone.
"Oh Ryuu...you really think you're the smartest, don't you. I wonder if that's how you were in your world.", She said to herself as she took a deep sight. "But soon, you'll realize you are no one in this world. Creatures far more powerful and intelligent than you are all around the world...I guess he will see for himself eventually."
