The Bellrose Did Not Bloom Today, Maybe Tomorrow

Due to the misfortune of being born into the powerful family of Baskervilles, Lactiflora and Roosevelt are forced to participate in the most horrendous tradition their family have, fighting for the head position, pulling hairs, dooming your cousin’s fate, nothing special. The uninterested pair decided that the sick tradition has to end. Pulling the string in the Vitrum manor, the twins found out that their fate is inevitable, but as persistent and as stubborn as their father, Lactiflora and Roosevelt, along with their cousins, discovered the secret their ancestors hid below the manor. A journey into the entrance of the abyss, into their hearts and soul. Their past, present and future. Into the unknown... Their journey will bore holes into their hearts, break their spirits, and deform the way they see the world, no matter what they gain, what they lose, they have each other. Like how they entered the manor, Lactiflora and Roosevelt will always be together.

Unbreakable Bond

Their life started with the death of their mother. Lactiflora and Roosevelt live a life of lies. Their father constantly feared that one of his children would walk the same path their grandmother took; blood, deception and tyranny. Gabriel did his best, loving his children more than his parents could ever do.

"My dear Lactiflora and Roosevelt, you are my legacy, my memory, you are everything to me."

There is no day in their life he wouldn't remind them that, as long as he lives. He wants them to know that there is more to feel other than pain and suffering beyond the imaginary walls his family built.

The twins are beautiful, there is no denying that. With their black wavy hair and their sky blue eyes, anyone will fall in love from the gorgeous sight. Both Lactiflora and Roosevelt are also exceptionally talented in combat and magic, Lactiflora is proficient with her sword and Roosevelt's unique talent is magic.

The more his children grow, the closer the inevitable gets. In order to protect them from the prying eyes of the main branch of their family, they settled in the middle of a forest, concealing the manor with his magic and nature. Despite this, Gabriel still manages to carry out his duty for his county, that is keeping its vegetation healthy and abundant.

For 8 years they lived in peace, free from the fate Gabriel was trying to preclude. It was peaceful, until their 15th birthday.

The celebration was not grand at all. Only the few servants he trusted and two of his half-siblings, Carlos and Veronica.

"You know you can't hide them forever." As much as Gabriel wanted to say that Veronica is wrong and he had all the power to keep them safe, he knew that it's impossible, one day the main branch or their other half-siblings will find them. He just didn't expect that day to be today.

"Nice party, you wound me dearest Gabriel, you were my favorite, and you didn't invite me to your children's birthday."

It is her, Gabriel's greatest fear, Lunaria Vega Von Bellatrix Baskerville. The 18th family head of the Baskerville family, she's as tyrannical as the previous heads before her. Gabriel knew what she was here for, he should have known better, nothing escapes her.

"Your grace, it wasn't my intention, I just want to.."

"Hush, I don't want to hear it, I want my great grandchildren to be present in the Glass manor tomorrow, I want to see them."

The moment their grandmother left the door, all strength in Gabriel's body left. Lactiflora and Roosevelt are quick to go to their father's side.

They both knew the reason why their father was avoiding the main branch of their family. They couldn't do anything else but to hug and comfort their visibly distraught father. He just didn't want his children to end like his mother who bedded every powerful figure in their country, men and women, to create a powerful heir since she couldn't win the competition herself.

Lactiflora only met the family head for a few minutes for the first time in her life, she already wants to skewer her with her favorite sword.

It wasn't long before they ended the celebration short. With Gabriel, clearly upset from the events, both Lactiflora and Roosevelt lost their desire to continue celebrating, so the servants went ahead to clean everything up.

No one could make Gabriel utter a word, not even his beloved children. They all knew that their arrival in the Glass manor was inevitable, so the twins started preparing for their departure.

As much as they don't want to leave without saying goodbye, they know it will only hurt both parties. The twins left before the sun rose. Gabriel couldn't do anything but watch his children ride their horses out of his grasp. He watched from his window despite not seeing his children anymore, only feeling their presence within the span of his magic until they are out of his protective barrier.

"If they ever exist, I pray to the gods above to protect you two at all times. It pains me to let you go, but its fate. I will always love you and my arms are always open wide for you two. I hope for your safe journey and please return to me."

Gabriel rested his forehead on the glass pane and shed tears for his children whose destiny is as vague as a clouded mirror from now on.

Now that his children are away, he no longer wants to live in the manor he so protected, the loneliness will kill him. Gabriel decided to settle once again in his manor in the county, even if the memories of his wife there will hurt him more, his people's presence is enough to help him go through all this.
