The Bellrose Did Not Bloom Today, Maybe Tomorrow

Due to the misfortune of being born into the powerful family of Baskervilles, Lactiflora and Roosevelt are forced to participate in the most horrendous tradition their family have, fighting for the head position, pulling hairs, dooming your cousin’s fate, nothing special. The uninterested pair decided that the sick tradition has to end. Pulling the string in the Vitrum manor, the twins found out that their fate is inevitable, but as persistent and as stubborn as their father, Lactiflora and Roosevelt, along with their cousins, discovered the secret their ancestors hid below the manor. A journey into the entrance of the abyss, into their hearts and soul. Their past, present and future. Into the unknown... Their journey will bore holes into their hearts, break their spirits, and deform the way they see the world, no matter what they gain, what they lose, they have each other. Like how they entered the manor, Lactiflora and Roosevelt will always be together.

Into The Crystal Blue Prison

Fedrin didn't stop, he just rested at the same time as Olivia was resting. He's starti g to throw petty pranks again. Lactiflora is impressed at the patience Olivia possesses, if it was her she would have cut Fedrins achilles heels already.

The Bellrose twins' look in the face sours as their ears rang at the cackle Fedrin was letting out. He was laughing at the soaking wet Olivia who fell into the pond after trying to retrieve her shoes.

"Fuck this, if he wants to prank her and she's not doing anything, can he at least quiet down? I will choke him." Lactiflora flexed her hands, things are starting to get to them, at this point they just want to plummet the prankster to the ground.

Unexpectedly, Roosevelt stood up from his seat and walked towards William, and whispered to him a few things before returning to his sister. Lactiflora wonders what he said because William wat hed them with a conflicted look.

"You want to punish Fedrin?!? How?" William, Lactiflora and Roosevelt sat around the small bonfire in the twins' balcony. The weather tonight is beautiful, so a hot chocolate and smores for the cold autumn night sounded so good.

"Yes, it was bothering us, I feel bad for Olivia, she might be a cold person, but her iron will is impressive, i just cant watch anymore." Lactiflora lies as easy as breathing, she does not feel bad, they are doing this for their own peace and quiet.

"We found a harmless punishment in the grimoire i acquired during the weapon selection, i think it can match his 'pranks'," Roosevelt then pulls out the Bellrose grimoire and opened it to the page of the said punishment. "Domainie Cauchemar. We will trap him in his worst nightmare until he begs for forgiveness and promises that he will stop harassing your sister."

"Isn't that cruel?" There's something in Roosevelt that wants to hit William, how can he think of that after what Fedrin had done to his sister.

"Like what he did to Olivia is not considered to be cruel, worry not it will not harm him physically, unless he sleep walks." William did not hear the last, and agreed reluctantly

In the Vitrum manor, almost all breathing has even out, Lunaria wishes that the night will last longer. Now that she was starting to research more about the abyssal door below the manor, the might not even exist, free time rarely comes. The night was so peaceful, it's almost too good to be true.

She shouldn't have said anything, not even minutes after uttering that sentence, a deafening scream awakened the manor. Lunaria's heart sank, fearing that there might be a raid. That's impossible, did they get past her butlers?

Lunaria immediately stood up from her seat, rushing to the door while lamenting the loss of peace. Once arriving to the source of the screams she came to find the children, and the servants crowding to get a glimpse towards whatever is causing the noise.

There were the butlers, trying to calm Fedrin, who was screaming his lungs out and pulling his hair. He doesn't look conscious, the fear is imminent in his dazed eyes.

"Argh!!! make it stop, i'm not him," He screams, his saliva is starting to drool out his mouth. "His sins are his, not mine." The butlers scrambled to keep Fedrin from banging his head to the wall. Benjamin already split himself into 7 clones to get the other children out of the way, they fear that in his unconscious state, Fedrin might summon his claymore and lash out at anyone. "Please, help me, help help help!!!" At this point, Fedrin says help like a broken record, and just kneeling on the floor, while shaking his head.

"Alright, I'll take it from here, Benjamin, get the children out of here, Rei you come with me to the infirmary, and Elijah, get this mess cleaned up." The three butlers bowed before leaving to perform the given task.

"An enchantment, a strong one," Lunaria continued to study the haggard form of her troublesome grandson, he looks better now than earlier, only the scratch he made himself remains. "Its Bellrose, I recognized this one from the grimoire."

"I'm sorry my lady, but may I ask? Aren't Bellrose, healers? Why would a grimoire coming from them contain such a malicious spell?" Rei knew that as a butler he shouldn't stick his nose into the business of his masters, but something tells him he needs to know it. He's afraid that his lady might get angry at him for asking such a question, but to his surprise, his lady laughed.

"Silly boy, Bellrose aren't originally healers, they are punishers, executioners, debtors, you name it. They are cruel and have the heart of stone, they have no compassion towards others except for their own." Lunaria wiped the imaginary tear from her eyes. "But alas, glory has to change, for some reason, the twins' maternal grandfather, Florian, grew a heart and dedicated his life helping others, spreading love, teaching forgiveness, as if he was enlightened."

"Oh, I- thank you for indulging this one's question."

"Yes, yes, I just think that the twins didn't get a piece of his kindness." After checking the child on the bed one last time, Lunaria decided it's time to leave. "I'll be going, once benjamin is done hushing the children back to their rooms, let him take over, and you may start getting today's ready."

Rei bowed before Lunaria left the infirmary. his eyes fall upon Fedrin, he is one of his masters, but somehow, he cant feel an ounce of pity on the prankster child.

Walking back to her office, someone she didn't expect to encounter on her way was William. Benjamin might not have seen him earlier and missed him.

The child looks at her and blinks, she can make up the expression of regret from the child, but overall she can hardly make up anymore emotion.

"I needed him to stop. I'll accept the punishment." The kid's voice trembled, like a child that he is. There are times when Lunaria forgets that these heirs are still in their teens. William is a tall kid, but there is something about him that makes it obvious that he was still a young man. Lunaria observed it before, these children grew up too fast, or did not grew up at all, if she can feel anything about it, she'll be saddened by that fact, after these children are related to her by blood.

"There is no punishment, go back to your room, it's too early for this."

"Of course, grandma…" The elder watched as the kid walked away, gloomier than before. William's act is understandable, and whatever their conflict is, it's none of her business.

The sun hasn't risen yet, its nearing winter after all, the night will soon get longer, she will spend some time outdoors later on.

The afternoon in the Vitrum manor returns into a peaceful one, Lunaria is enjoying the last few minutes of it since the children are about to be dismissed from their etiquette class. better finish up this tea before returning back to her office and continue her research.

The head fought the urge to groan as soon as she heard the clock strikes 15:00, soon her peace will perish and it will be hard to find the time to have it again. after the last drop of earl gray from the pot, Lunaria stood up to leave. She had enough of idling and she has worked to do, and does not have the time to watch children doing children stuff in her garden.

Despite not being interested at all, Lunaria's eyes drifted onto the site of her notorious granddaughter Bellrose with William, but not with Roosevelt. It's a sight to see, as she said multiple times, it's none of her business.

She did not expect it when she encounters the other half of the Bellrose twin, standing infront of the infirmary door.

"Hello Bellrose, you seem to be eager in eliminating a competitor of yours."

the kid on the other hand had the audacity to look offended, he turns his body facing Lunaria, and a gleeful smile plastered on his face, its so different to his sister's.

"What are you saying grandmother? I'm only making sure fedrin wouldn't die, it is William first on casting such spells, after all." Roosevelt, pulls out a spell book from his mana inventory and casted a healing spell from the door. It's a powerful one, it heals everything in the vicinity, including the leafless plants in the corridor.

"You can heal dying plants as well?" Lunaria wants to test something, its not everyday when you'll encounter someone as powerful as this one.

"I think, i haven't tried exploring it yet, after all my sister rarely gets injured."

"I have a flower gifted to me, can you revive it?" The head then started walking to see the said plant. Roosevelt raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced to what she was saying, but followed her anyway.

In a room made of crystal clear glass, their lies a withering plant in the middle. it look sick and is barely holding on to whatever is left of it.

"Heal it, and I will grant you and your sister one request." Roosevelt pursed his lips, tempted, now that his sister is included.

It's not a surprise when Roosevelt succeeded, the plant grew and now bears a flower with vibrant petals.

"It's a test," Lunaria only nods at her grandson's obvious observation. "I was not born yesterday, grandmother, but I do hope you will keep your promise." The kind facade of the male half of the Bellrose twins vanished, replaced with the same smile the older twin possessed. It was hair raising and it feels like all of a sudden the walls of the crystal garden moved closer towards her, it feels claustrophobic. But as expected, the head remained unfazed, despite the tiny spec of fear threatening to grow in her heart.

"I know, I was just wondering why you have to subject young Morriet in such a process of 'saving' his sister." Like a bubble, Roosevelt already has the soft and kind facade again, he gave another smile to Lunaria, but it's quite hard to get whatever she saw out of her mind.

"Oh, we just want to see how far he will go for what he wants, touching ain't it, a loving brother that he is," Lunaria shook her head, today was supposed to be a peaceful day, but she guessed if you have a Bellrose around, there's no such thing as peaceful. "Ah, speaking of that, I need Lactiflora, she might lose her way again, i will see you later grandmother, have a nice rest of the day." With that Roosevelt walked away to leave the crystal garden.

The whole encounter feels like a deja vu, just like last night. She just hope that the twins does not start a rebellion like their father, she doesn't know if she can spend another 100 more years bearing this position, she needs to pass it down.
