The words the prince said rung in his ear over and over again. His heart was shattered and broken into a million pieces. He couldn't utter a single word as a response to him. He just stared ahead at the beautiful creatures that have rejected him in the worse way possible.
He would never expect even the most heartless person in the world to say such words to someone who had just confessed love to them. He fell to the ground having no strength left in her legs to keep him up. The first time he fell in love and also the first time that he got heartbroken. He had often heard rumors of how painful it is to have you heartbroken by the one you love but he always thought that it was only his friends being weak. But now he understood what they meant.
He realized he was crying when the tears from his eyes hit his hand which was on his leg. He let them flow as he had no energy left in him to wipe them.
The prince looked at him the hatred in his eyes gone replaced with an aloof face. He knew the depths that his words had pierced in him and despite everything that he did to him. He didn't deserve it but it had to be done. It was better to uproot weed as it starts growing than leaving it and letting it destroy the plant.
He was the crown prince of Arcadia and he couldn't give him what he was asking for. Love was not something that he understood nor something he could feel. He had no heart and without a heart how could he love him in return. It is better for him to break his heart than condemn him to a life of longing and waiting for something that he was incapable of giving him.
He was heartless and cold, some would say even ruthless. Others call him inhuman and soon even he would understand the reasons why he should not love him, he thought.
"I have to meet my mother. Hurry this up as we don't have all day," he said. His voice so cold it could freeze everything around them. His voice chilled his soul.
Landon got up from the ground feeling tired and numb. He began to walk forward not knowing where he was going or remembering to put on his shoes. The prince took his shoes in his hand and walked over to Landon. He picked him up and carried him bridal style and went into the glamorous golden palace.
All that saw him or heard that he was coming ran in the opposite direction. They all didn't want to see him or have him see them, they were afraid of death and hence ran away from it. The halls of the palace were empty as the prince passed by with Landon in his hands.
Landon stared at the hazel eyes of the prince and was confused. He couldn't understand which side of him to accept to be the true him. Was it the beauty that lied underneath his eyes or the beast that lied behind his smile. He was so lost, on one hand, he treats him with all the hatred in the world, and on the other hand, he is always there to help him when he needed his help.
His heart felt so warm from the little act of being carried by him. 'You might indeed break me every single day but I am also sure that you will heal my wounds each time. You will never let me wither away,' he thought and the prince stopped in his tracks and looked down at him. 'You are my villain and hero,' he added.
"Hope can be a good thing in life but sometimes it can be a tool that kills you slowly from the inside. Don't expect love from me," he told and continued to walk.
Landon stared at him wide-eyed fearing that the handsome devil was capable of reading his mind. He looked away from the devil with hope in his heart. He didn't just want the palace walls to provide him safety but for it to become a home for him. Not just for the comfortable life but for the man who carried him.
He was just afraid of what will happen when the prince discovered that she was a he. He probably stood a chance of losing him forever but before that happens he will have to bend the prince. If he gets the prince to like men then he won't have a problem being with him when his identity was discovered.
"Stop dreaming of things that can never happen. That won't ever happen?" he said and Landon froze. His mind went blank and his heart races in his heart, his life was over.
"Take care of him and get him ready," the prince said to Elsa and the other servants and left the room. He walked down the corridors of the palace and climbed the stairs to go to the third floor to meet his mother. He went to the east wing of the palace and went directly to her room.
The maid went in and announced his arrival and returned to tell him that the queen agreed to see him. He opened the door to his mother's room and went inside to meet her.
"Mother," he called out walking into the room. He hugged her and sat opposite her.
"My son, welcome home," she said and he nodded in response.
"Tell me. Why did you summon me to return in a hurry? Uncle was not happy that I didn't stay longer in sun city," he stated.
"The Princess selection has to take place soon but from what I hear it won't be needed," she remarked gaining a lifted eyebrow from the prince.
"Whatever do you mean?" he asked pretending to be unaware of what she was going on about.
"I hear that you have returned with two different women. One who's an identity I know quite well while the other is a stranger to me," she explained.
"That is what I wanted to discuss with you. I wish to marry both of them and this is not a request but your son informing you of his decision. The wedding will take place tomorrow," he announced his decision to her making her shocked and happy at the same time.
