TO THE DISASTROUS GET-TO-KNOW EACH OTHER!

"You are crazy to think like that, mother!"

Ambrosia spat right at her mother's face. The Queen did not flinch.

"Crazy or deranged, I m your mother.

And also the Queen, so you will do as I say. You will follow my orders. "

Celeste retorted back at her daughter and stormed out of her chamber. She told the maids to get the Princess ready on her way out.

Ambrosia looked at her mother's retreating figure with distress. She was being so difficult. She was adamant about not understanding her point of view.

"Princess, the Queen asked for your presence in the Great Hall in fifteen minutes."

The maid came forward holding up her dress for the event today. Ambrosia snatched the dress off from the maid's hands.

Today was the day when she was to meet with her husband-to-be, the underage Prince and both the King and Queen of the land of Mortals.

Angrily dressed, she came out and made her way across the Great Hall. And in between her way, came Lavanya.

She was the raven-haired vampire elite, the daughter of Ambrosia's uncle, Emanuel who was in charge of overseeing the security of their kingdom.

"Excited to meet your prince?"

Lavanya chuckled. It had become a joke of her entire life to be wedded to an underage prime and that too a human, a mortal blood.

Her own mother had made a joke out of her life. If her father would have been alive today, he would have never let anything of the such sort ever happen to her.

Or how much she missed the company of her best friend, Lucia, and in its place, she was being laughed upon by her cousin, Lavanya.

Lucia always knew how to get out of any unwanted situation. That was her specialty as a werewolf and to think how much she could have been of help to Ambrosia at that moment. She could only wonder at that time.

"Get off my face!"

She snapped at Lavanya and walked past her towards the Great Hall. Celeste saw her daughter strode inside, not waiting for the doorman to call out her name.

Celeste eyed Emanuel, who in turn signaled the Palace keeper to make the doorman address the Princess's arrival to everyone present in the Hall.

"The Princess of the Great Land of Saunders, Ambrosia!"

The doorman announced her grand entrance to everyone. And instantly, everyone focused their eyes on the young woman, walking towards the central pedestal on the red carpet.

Ambrosia felt everyone's eyes upon her. Their whispers and gossip were directed at her.

She saw her mother, the Queen in the middle, standing up, and beside her was a middle-aged man and a woman, supposedly the King and Queen of the Mortals.

"This is my daughter, Princess Ambrosia."

Celeste introduced her daughter to the King and Queen. She quickly pulled Ambrosia to her side the moment she stepped foot upon the pedestal.

"Greeting to the beautiful Princess..."

King Delaware stepped forward and took her right hand, placing a sweet kiss on the back side of her palm.

"I m the King of Mortals..."

"I know who you are..."

The Princess cut the King short. Celeste narrowed her eyes at her daughter for trying to be disrespectful to the King.

"Then you must already know me too."

The fair skinned woman, beside the King, spoke out. Beads of pearls sticking against the lining of her temple like a tiara.

"Of course, I do. The mother who has no remorse for marrying off her underage son to a much older vampire. Who knows even older than herself included?"

Ambrosia wanted to be hurtful to them. She wanted them to feel shame for even considering such an ordeal.

"You could not be any older than me, Princess.

I was there when you were born with my fiance."

The Queen smiled, looking over at her husband. They were very young back then, only in their early twenties, newly engaged to her husband.

"Perhaps it could be why I feel so at ease in having my son to be arranged with you than anyone else, even the most suitable one."

Delilah completed. Even though Ambrosia wanted to be cruder, she could tell that it was not going to affect her majesty much because she seemed to be one of those who remained calm even in the most gravious situations.

"Yet it would not make me feel any less of a pedophile to be marrying your son."

"Ambrosia!"

Celeste tightly held onto her daughter's arms, trying to make her know that she was crossing a line here.

"And it would not make me feel any less violated to be married to you, Princess!"

They all turned to look at the boy, in his early teens, coming forward and standing beside the King and Queen.

"Damien!"

Delaware lashed out at his son softly, knowing quiet well the amount of people they were being surrounded by.

"What? The least mother told me that she would not be taller than me!"

The prince said, peeking at his mother. The boys in the palace were all going to make fun of him for this very reason even more.

They were already doing so knowing he was to be wedded to a much older vampire Princess than his age. He was only thirteen years at the time.

"You will grow, little prince!"

Celeste commented. But then realized what she had done. She had made him furthermore insecure about his feature.

"I apologize for the slip of my tongue..."

"No, it is alright. Unlike my beloved mother, you are not singing lies."

The Prince stopped Celeste midway. Delilah could feel the burden so huge that her son had to carry since being so young. But there was no other way around it either.

"My Queen, Your Royal Majesty, and Your Royal Highness, it is time we start the feast!"

Emanuel stepped in to save the day before this get-to-know-each-other could become more disastrous than it already was.
