A Ghost In The Room (2)

"What in heaven's name is that thing?!!" Madeline's whispers were laced with unbelievable shock as she watched the shadowy figure emerge from the darkness where it hid itself. Unable to tear her eyes off the fear-inspiring figure, Madeline took a cautious step back when it took a step forward.

"Don't move." Cassian's alarmed whisper signaled for Madeline to freeze when he noticed the vague figure had turned its head in her direction. The figure was barely visible, almost like a shadow, but it was definitely there, and it was getting closer, further enhancing the dark chills that ran through their spine as they tried not to make even the tiniest of sounds.

In silence, they watched with horrific eyes as the figure shambled closer and closer, its footsteps echoing through the empty room. From the creature's silhouette, Cassian and Maddie could make out its outline as their gazes fell on its shadow that displayed on the wall.
