Ezekiel took a sword from one of the guards, "I'll protect His Majesty. Call the knights!"
The guard nodded, and ran off the other door.
Ezekiel told Adam, who was not able to bring his sword, "Father, don't worry, I'm here." And although the king had some training in close hand combat, his skill was not enough to match those of the intruders.
King Adam nodded at him. He hoped no harm would befall his only son.
On the other hand, most of the Court Officials and Ministers weren't well-versed in combat, so they relied on the Clan Leaders. While the Court Officials and Ministers were scholars of the Royal Family who served as advisors to the King and Crown Prince, becoming a Leader of a Clan required defeating the previous leader in a one-on-one battle in front of their whole Clan, the reason why they excelled in combat.
