Getting rid of a pest

Li walked out of the police building and ran into a chubby man walking up the stairs. He stopped and studied the somehow familiar face of the man and the man noticed his stare.

"Hello sir, is something wrong?"

Li shook his head a smile on his lips," Nothing. I just couldn't help but notice your beautiful outfit. Are you perhaps a leader or are you in charge of the entire police force."

The man chuckled and raised his hand and pat his shoulder.

"You think too highly of me sir. Am just the chief in charge of the criminal department."

Li's eyes widened in surprise," A chief? You're appearance itself says so. If not a chief, you'd be the big boss."

The chief laughed at his praise," You know your words young man, what brings you here?"

"I came to visit my friend, he was arrested a little while ago."

The chief rubbed his chin," Your friend was arrested? What did he do that is against the law?"
