The Asshai's Bloodmage

After dying on Earth, the protagonist wakes up in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Armed with the knowledge from the books and coming from a more evolved society, he accepts his new life and identity and decides to learn more about this world of magic and dragons. However, things are not as simple as he imagined. Sent to a very distant past where the Targaryen conquest has not yet happened, his knowledge of the renowned literary series is not of much help, and to make matters worse, he was reborn in the worst place and at the worst possible time. [BEEP] [System activated] [7 days until the doom of Valyria] [New mission!] [Run away!] TAGS: Game Of Thrones, Valíria, Targaryen, System, Magic, Adventure, Dragons, Pirates, Slaves, World Building, Weak to the Strong, Rituals, Horror, Monsters, Firearms, Multiple POV, Secret Organizations. Hello everyone, I hope you like my fanfic, it takes place 400 years before the events of Game of Thrones, in this fic I will show my own vision of Asshai by the shadow using my experience that I gained from reading many magic novels. I hope you like the city of shadows that I created. The system is not powerful and will only help the protagonist with small facilities and some minor benefits. This is my first time writing and I do not have an editor, feel free to correct anything in the grammar. I really like the sinister environment of Asshai where no magic is forbidden, and because there are few mentions in the books about this place, I started to have these ideas about what Asshai and its society would be like, so I decided to share these thoughts with you and write this fic. I hope to gain more practice and experience as an author, to later release my own book that is also already in development. Enjoy the book everyone!

Effects and consequences

Rafael was still sitting on top of the cabin, his eyes vacant. Within his vision he saw a cave shaking for a long time before a lava flow took away his totem number 2. When he came to, he sighed. He then focused his vision on the last totem, the one in the cave at the bottom of the sea. Luckily the cave was intact, only then did he sigh in relief, if he had lost all the totems, he had no idea how long it would take before he learned other new spells, and he would have been very defenseless. Luckily he could still use two fireballs a day, so he was not completely defenseless against the dangers of the sea and the even greater dangers that might await him in Asshai.

As I'm thinking about leaving the cabin roof, several system warnings start:

[The doom has ended]

[Calculating bonus reward for the main quest]

[Cause and Effect reward granted]

[You will be able to glimpse the effects and consequences of your actions in Valyria]

[Starting…]

[7236 commoners survived the doom!]

[You directly and indirectly influenced the survival of all these people.]

[Some of these survivors will opt for piracy and become criminals!]

[A small portion will try to return to Valyria, never to be seen again.]

[Most of the commoners will take refuge on every continent, and the story of the Red Sage who saved them from doom will be told throughout the world.]

[Even 100 years later, your descendants will still remember you!]

[Several people involved in the higher mysteries will now be interested in the mysterious Red Sage!]

[The crew of the ship Valyrian Sigh is greatly tied to its fate and no information about them is revealed.]

[24 Bloodmages from the remaining 39 families of Valyria died during the doom.]

[6 Bloodmages were resurrected in the depths of the 14 flames and died again, this time permanently.]

[Three powerful mages, with no ties to the Valyrian families escaped due to your warning, all 3 will answer your call for help in the future when needed.]

[Madame Red Rose survived along with all her daughters, she feels gratitude towards you and will always listen to your words and warnings.]

[Lord Leo Velaryon and his fleet of ships survived thanks to your warnings, he will marry his two daughters to a surviving dragon lord. He will be heavily involved in the conflicts of the Century of Blood.]

[The Blood Mage Kalindor escaped Valyria due to your letter and other indirect actions!]

[Kalindor is the only surviving Bloodmage of Valyria, he possesses the knowledge of dragon breeding, he is also a danger to the future of the Targaryen conquest and must be eliminated!]

[Magnus survived the disaster and will soon discover that he was deceived by you…]

[The Sun Queen Dragon that belonged to Ronny Belaerys survived due to your actions, this female dragon will bring many eggs into the world and cause a greater number of wild dragon activity in the coming centuries!]

[The Blood Mage Esmer survived due to your interference in warning about the death of the Immortal and Countess, he ended his contract with the 39 families and stole 1 dragon egg. Unable to obtain more information about the target due to high-level prophetic protections!]

[The Immortal necromancer will return to life 200 years earlier than normal due to his actions. Unable to obtain more information about the target due to high-level prophetic protections!]

I take a deep breath, this was a very good bonus reward, I was worried about the consequences of saving so many commoners, but it seems that besides more piracy and a little fame it's fine. But what would the higher mysteries be? Is it religions? I should be fine with my medium-level prophetic protection if they have ill intentions.

Madam Rose, Lord Leo and Magnus won't affect me at all. Even if Magnus comes to me he'll only be seeking death. I laugh when I see about the mages dying and resurrecting again only to die again.

But when I see that one of them survived and I'm the culprit, I get really worried, even more so since the guy is such a troublemaker... Well, there are 100 years left until the start of the conquest... Maybe I can use the 3 wizards who owe me a favor to eliminate him? What if he has a resurrection method too?

I put the thoughts about Kalindor aside and look at the increase in wild dragons, this could cause problems, not only for the common people but it could also affect the dance if some of them are tamed. Another problem to think about in the future... Then I look at the current problems... Esmer and Immortal... I couldn't get many details about these two, could Immortal be the old man in the cave? I thought he was dead, but someone with such mastery in the matter of souls must have survived. I must plan well and talk to Esmer first, I don't want to make these two my enemies, but I must also be cautious of their actions.

I leave the cabin roof and go talk to Aisha, now that we're on the high seas we should start the classes. As we talk, she warns that not everyone will be able to learn the Asshai'i language, but that she can teach the common language to the Valyrians on board as well. This is a language I don't know either, so I'll try to learn both. I invite her to dinner tonight with me and my friends, to discuss the details of the lessons, and she accepts.

Then I call Omar and we go together to Fatty Zhang's cabin to look at the contents of Fat Brown's 3 safes. Once inside the cabin, I finally use the keys the blacksmith gave me and manage to open all 3 safes. I'm sad to see that they all contain a lot of paper and little money. Even the Browns' bags had more money than the safes. It makes sense, after all, it's better to keep everything with you when you have a theft-proof bag. We divide the few coins and leave the only gold bar for Fatty Zhang, who is a little short on money compared to me and Omar. Adding up everything I have now, I have over 1,300 gold coins. I leave them and say goodbye, reminding them about dinner in my cabin tonight.

I also take the opportunity to invite the merchant and his son to my dinner tonight. I invited them because they might know something about Asshai, since they said they have traveled a lot. My first mate has also been to the city of shadows once, but the man is rough and doesn't speak any language other than that of our homeland, so he probably doesn't know much.

I read during the afternoon and take the opportunity to look at my two jewelry chests. I am surprised by the amount of good items inside them, their value could be similar to the jewelry box Omar received from his father. I send a message to the head chef about dinner and then take a French bath using the water that is delivered to the VIP cabins every day. I dress appropriately and soon all the guests begin to arrive.

End of volume 1 - Valyria

This is a bonus chapter that was supposed to be released on Thanksgiving Day as a way to thank my readers from countries that celebrated this holiday. But I only released it today to avoid you having cliffhangers on other days and to close volume 1 today.

Now that volume 1 is finished, I ask that you leave a review on the website. This helps a lot in the visibility of the novel, bringing more readers to The Asshai's Bloodmage.

I recently received 1 star from a user who didn't read a single chapter of the novel and said that the words in the chapters were short or the story was too slow without even seeing the tag (MULTIPLE POV and SYSTEM). (Edit 12/14/24

I talked to this person who gave me 1 star and he ended up removing his review after realizing it was unfair.)

In addition, 70% of my readers do not have an account on the website. I ask that you use your Google account to log in quickly, leave your review and donate power stones so that The Asshai's BloodMage can go even further with many, many chapters and much more readers.

In addition to my vision of Asshai, I plan to show more locations from this world such as Sothoryus, Ulthos, Yi Ti, and the exploration of the West. But all of this will depend on you, the readers.
