Chapter 2:Power

I looked to my left where The blonde lady made her escape but not before she stumbled over some garbage. Now I have to try and stay alive. I looked to where The faceless man was supposed to be but he was gone that's what I wanted to think Anyway.

without even knowing what's going on, the faceless man was already in full attack mode already swinging lightning-fast punches at me his fist was like a blur I dodged one, two, then three of his punches but in the end, He finally landed a blow which sends me flying I stop when my back slams into The wall I yelp from the pain I look up he was already in front of me the blade in his hand descending towards my face I rolled but not before losing a lock of my hair to the razor-sharp edges of the blade I stumbled over the garbages trying to get to my feet my clothes was now the smell of fish. He then tucked away the blade into his skin which opens like a living pocket. He didn't have a face so that I could read his emotions but something tells me he got me right where he wants me.

The sound of bones shifting could be heard as his back became hunched and from his back came legs, spider legs. fear runs through my body, my skin gave way to cold sweat. I noticed this black goo oozing from his legs it came in contact with The Metal bin and I watch in horror as it was reduced to nothing.

Acid!?

I looked around the surroundings hoping I could get past him but it was pointless That's when I noticed a small figure emerging from the shadows. It was a cat it was blue I recognized him from his name Tag but he must have followed me when I was jogging. The man turned his attention to blue like he just spots a more interesting prey.

"Step away from the girl, you can leave with your life or just maybe ....with your body intact just...maybe" I look to the source of the sound it was coming from blue but his mouth wasn't moving and yet."Oh, Justina I never wanted you to find out this way but it seems like they have already started searching for you" I always talked to blue as a kid playing Tea party he was the first friend I made before madz but now he is talking back to me somehow I hope this was a dream but it wasn't.

And what does He mean who's searching for me ?

Suddenly blue's small body started shaking sparks of electricity danced along his black fur Then There was a bright flash of light almost blinding me I managed to blink a few times I could make out The shape of a girl she looks The same age as me Then slowly everything came into focus The girl was standing there naked her long hair glowed a deep ocean blue, as also her eyes thick blue veins were visible on both her cheeks now I figured that is blue.....my cat if it wasn't for different features she could pass as a human

"Justina it would be wise if you took cover for what's about to happen"

her voice more of a command than a warning but even though I had so many questions I did as I was told, I hid behind the wall I craned my neck hoping to catch a glimpse of what is about to happen The look in her eyes was frightening she wanted to kill him, she wanted to rip him apart with her bare hands, before I knew it blue was already airborne jumping toward The man her nail-like claws ripping his stomach open he staggered. Like on a beat Blue shifted all the weight in her right Arm, slamming her fist across his face he was flung like a rag doll Ten to twenty meters across The other room. the wall crumbled as a result of a violent impact. Blue hovered over the ground, moving towards the rubble curious about what will happen next I cautiously followed behind there was dust everywhere but somehow I was able to see it was as if my senses were on high I could hear The beating of two hearts one was beating like a drum while the other was beating at a steady paste the steady one belongs to blue I'm sure of, it suddenly six of the spider legs moved towards blue at the same time.

"Look out!" I shouted. Blue dodged but she didn't move that much just a couple inches but that was enough. Blue gripped onto the spider legs ripping it from The man's body he doubled over clearly he is in pain he tried crawling away only to be stopped by blue who stepped into his back.

"Any last words?" blue said with a mocking tone of voice.

"Oh yeah... that's right I forgot, you. have. no. mouth, but even if you did I would have killed you anyway just for what you had done" she smiled her nail-like claws severing his head from his body, blue let out an evil chuckle as she started into the moonlight.

So who's the real monster here? This Is....just Insane!

Some years ago.....

Tanesh's Pov

My heartbeat uncontrollably in my chest as I tried to keep up with my captain as laser fire zipped past us hitting the wall We quickly ducked behind one of the starships that weren't deployed, above us other starships were taking down each other some exploded before hitting the ground.

"Tanesh, go straight ahead I'll cover you!" He said. I nod but I was scared I hesitated for a bit his hand gripped my shoulder gently " it's okay I know you're scared but trust me you'll be fine besides they don't call me gunslinging flash for nothing" he said with a smileee. I dashed ahead not looking back soldiers were dropping like flies from The enemies high powered laser guns an incoming starship That was on fire was heading in my direction, I dived then rolled, it hit the ground with a mettalic clang before exploding ahead I saw a man pointing his gun at me before he got the chance his head was cracked open by laser fire I looked to my left where I saw my captain jumping over The mans corpse. Darting Ahead

"Keep moving Tanesh we only have one chance to save them and this is it move!" He said His words somehow gave me reason his reason for fighting he wants to save his wife and daughter which are very precious to him then I'll fight to protect them also! I picked a gun from one of the corpses on the ground I checked The power and it was ready to do some damage.

I ran ahead mowing down six to seven men I reloaded then did it all over again The clip became empty afterwards, that didn't stop me from disarming them then slitting their throats with my small black blade the blue blood now on my face like a marking of soldiers lives I've taken Ahead There were numerous amount of corpes lying on the ground it was like a grave yard dismembered body parts head cracked open dew to laser fire. I came up onto a tall glass case it held the captain's wife and daughter I was about to free them when someone came from The shadows.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you " He said pointing his gun at me,It was zonar a high ranking military man.

" Drop it!"he Demanded "The child or your life?" He said pointing the gun over at The child in The case. I wanted to kill him right then and there but he left me with no choice but to surrender I couldn't let him hurt the child so if I had to die so be it. He had a way how he dealt with his victims he tortured them before killing them.

"so what are you gonna do? Strap me to a chair then slowly remove my face with your laser bade?" I looked him dead in the eyes not showing any sign of fear.

"Ha, Ah so I see my reputation percedes me" He said giving a light chuckle. Before turning it into an evil laugh.

"So child tell me how do you want to die? I'll let you choose your own torcher equipment" as he went on about ways of killing me my eyes wandered onto the glass case where I saw the captain's reflection Zonar didn't notice he kept on blabbing nonesense I Quickly came up with an idea.

"Oh please you think you are man enough?! I heard The only reason you have this rank is because you killed your own brother in a mission" I said with a smug smile on my face just as the words left my mouth he gun butt me across the face instantly the taste of blood fills my mouth. He puts the gun onto my forehead.

"You are pretty annoying girl I was gonna show you mercy by letting you live a little longer but , Any last words?"

"Yeah, actually......BOOM!" His skull cracked open. His lifeless body fell to the ground The captain stood over his body.

"That's what you get for messing with my family" he said his eyes blazing with fury. His face immediately softened when he saw me staring

"I'm proud of you kid your a true soldier " he said ruffling my hair " come on lets get these two out of this thing. The captain quickly released his wife lady vaar from the case while I released his daughter I gently picked her up she was so innocent and the most beautiful thing I've ever seen The captain and stood beside me smiling.

"Beautiful, isn't she?" He asked

" yes, Captain she.....is " I smiled

"Okay, I'm just gonna say it.from now on I order you to stop calling me captain" he replied his voice calm yet serious.

"But Ca-

He gave me a questioning look.

"I meant khannhar " I replied he stretched out his arms wide pulling us into a warm hug.

" we Are family, Tanesh and I want you to watch over my daughter as she grows, " I nod as I looked at the child.

"You are gonna be Xephena's big sister" said lady vaar as she kissed me on the forehead.

"But we have to leave This place, This planet is already dying plus the invaders already done as much damage to the system already I don't want to raise my daughter In an environment like this" his gaze became cold as he looked across the sky where starships continue to explode Immediately I noticed what he meant and I know I had to get stronger to protect xephena and lady vaar and for what's about to come.

Present.....

She turned her gaze towards me she smiled as the blood coated her face.

"I'm sure there are lots of questions, you wanna ask me right Justina?"

I don't even know where to begin

"Or is it Xephena?"
