Astor is a side character in Jason's story: Sounds weird, but if this novel was about Jason it would be you usual reincarnation into a hero story. Off handed I mention Jason has a harem, which purely exists for jokes and to poke fun at the harem hero archetype. Astor himself is unlikely to get in a romance.

Funfacts: Astor is still jealous that he can't use Divine Light, so much so he wrote a book slander the church. Mages and Believers of the Goddess have always had strained relations
