Unexpected Development

Time passed,

Very quickly, Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months

3 months after Blaze had left, Leus was awake at night thinking about his progress so far

'My mana pool has increased considerably, But my Life Force didn't increase by much'

'My training is getting stale as well

Using Vivify is not increasing my Life Force anymore, And increasing my Mana Pool has become so difficult

Currently, Leus was one and a half years old, And he began feeling something strange

Every time he trained, he felt as if his Life Force was hitting something like an invisible wall

It felt strange

As if water was pressuring a dam and it was about to break,

He didn't understand what he felt or why he was feeling it, So he ignored it and just continued training

Few days passed like that, But one night, Things went different

Leus was awake in the middle of the night, Like always, He was using Vivify and channeling his Life Force to his sleeping mother

But while he was doing that, Something happened

It felt as if something broke inside him

He felt as if his Life Force was put in a box, But suddenly it grew so large that it broke the box and came out

As if a dam broke inside him, He felt Mana flood his body

From all over the room, Mana entered Leus' body

He started to panic

'What the hell is going on? Every part of my body is paining!'

He didn't do anything different today, Yet, He was feeling so much pain and tiredness all of a sudden

Leus stopped using the spells and tried to walk back to his bed, But he couldn't

' ... My body feels so sluggish'

Helpless, Leus fell to the floor

His breathing quickened, And his mind raced trying to understand what was going on, But to no avail

After a couple of seconds, His eyes felt heavy and even breathing became a monumental task

Leus was scared

'Am I dying? ... Did I do something wrong?'

'But Sal said that nothing wrong should happen as long as I'm careful with my Life Force ...'

'I used the same amount of Life Force as always ... What's going on'

Slowly, Leus' consciousness began to fade, His mind went blank and his eyes closed

Viorica got up from her sleep and found Leus on the floor

She quickly carried him but then she noticed something

'He feels heavier today ...'

After putting him on the bed, She began trying to wake him up

"Leus, Leus, Get up, Why were you on the floor?"

For a while, Viroica kept tying to wake Leus up, But he didn't wake up

She panicked

'Blaze isn't home ...'

She forced herself to keep her composure and tried to think straight

'I can't scare Amethyst and Merlin ... I have to calm down'

She took a deep breath and asked herself

'Think Viorica, Think ... What would Blaze do in this situation?'

Quickly memories from the last time came to her mind

She checked Leus' breathing and heartbeat

She first put her hand on his mouth and felt his breath, Then she put her ear on his chest and she heard his heartbeat

Doing that calmed her down a lot

After she calmed down, She remembered what Blaze asked her the last time

'Wake him up with Magic'

She didn't hesitate for a second and started chanting the only incantation she knew of, Water

However, As water poured on Leus' face, He still didn't get up

That left her with a single option

'I have to go and bring Remedy here!'

Initially, She considered taking Leus to Remedy, But because she didn't know what was wrong with him nor if that would be the right thing to do, and because she used Magic and felt that it'd be too tiring to carry Leus all the way to Remedy and back, She decided against it and rushed to bring Remedy instead

She quickly reached her clinic and went inside, Then she went and explained the situation to Remedy 

Remedy didn't want to come and suggested waiting until their next weekly appointment, But Viorica was adamant that she comes

'Ughh ... It's my fault for not checking their background properly'

Leus' condition sounded worrying, And Remedy couldn't just let him die

'He's a direct descendant of the Inferno household ... And I don't want my record to be tainted with the death of someone like that ...'

She could only sigh and helplessly follow Viorica to her house

'The first thing I'll do after becoming Elite is cutting all my connections to this unlucky family!'

She vowed that to herself and went inside

Viorica quickly led Remedy to where Leus was and closed the door behind her.
