"You do realize that this is a two way street right?" I reigned in my smirk, "You think I didn't notice some of your late night activities, or the fact that you were alone for those late night activities."
Ethan's face was a battlefield of pale, and bright beet red.
"Let's just not do this ok," Ethan turned around, and left just as quick as he appeared.
His heart was pounding, and his mind was reeling. He'd bitten off more then he could chew. I settled down. Letty would come here sooner rather then later. I'd healed so it was time for us to move on the next part of our plan.
It was time for the summit. We weren't going to be talking to the military leaders alone this time around. This time we were going to be talking to the world leaders. I was glad that Letty had prepared the best speakers possible for us, but I still wasn't sure what kind of trade agreement they were planning on arranging so that we could bring in currency to pay our people with. I slammed my fist down into the stone.
Aurora flinched slightly. Jostled by the sudden movement.
"What is it?" Aurora asked.
"I forgot I was going to meet up with Bryce," I tapped my talons on the ground.
"Oh, did I distract you?" she ran her tail down all the spines it could reach.
Sending a fresh thrill through me, and tempting me more then a little. The only reason I didn't cave in to that temptation was the approach of Letty's ominous aura.
"As much as I want to cave to that temptation," I swallowed as my mouth went dry, and my brain cells struggled to continue functioning, "Letty's coming this way."
That was all I needed to say for her to stop messing with me. It didn't take much longer for Letty to make his way into the room.
"Say what you've come to say," I snarled slightly.
"I've arranged everything," Letty smirked up at me, "Elise, Savannah, and all of the dragon bonded are ready to part at a moments notice. Although I would prefer for Copper, and Aurora to stay behind with their bonded."
"Aurora comes with me," I barely allowed him to finish his sentence, "Her bonded can choose whether or not to come with."
"About travel," Letty continued as if he knew there was no point in arguing with me, "I believe we can use the wyverns to bridge the gap in mounts we need. They can carry those that are not bonded. Such as Schnider, and the other high rankers in our country. They can also carry the luggage so that the dragons can focus on carrying only their bonded."
"So we won't be using a portal?" I cocked my head curiously.
"Humans have grown to distrust portals," He started explaining, "Using a portal right away would spread suspicion among the humans. I'd also ask that you avoid taking your human form while we're in the human's territory. Allowing the general public to reach the wrong conclusion about you being able to change forms is the best course of action."
"So you want the two of us to basically sit this out outside?" I felt my lip curl up into a snarl.
"No," Letty frowned, "The intention is to have the gathering in a place where the two of you can join us," he paused, "But it's very possible the humans may try to cause trouble or exclude you two from the proceedings even though you have the final say on all the dealings with our new little nation. I imagine they'll do everything they can to prevent me from entering as well. They'll fail on both accounts because they underestimate our abilities."
"Then why are you talking as if we'll have trouble?" I snorted.
"If you react with rage toward their antics then the general public will see you in a negative light," His entire aura turned serious, "Last I checked you didn't want that to happen."
"So how am I supposed to defend myself if something happens?" I snarled.
"You have the magic control required to use harmless violence as I do," he looked at me with a disappointed light in his eye.
"Harmless violence?" I crossed my left arm over the right, "You mean that trick you taught me to destroy specific targets."
"You have been practicing the skill haven't you?" Letty looked at me as if I had failed him.
I didn't answer. I had a feeling he'd know if I lied.
"It's a good thing we're heading to the southern continent," Letty waved off my worry, "There are plenty of powerful beasts, and portals in the ocean so you'll have plenty of time to practice as you seal up all the portal in your path on the way down."
I opened my mouth to complain, but Letty gave me a look that sent chills up my spine. I wasn't sure I had the mana required to seal every single portal on the way down. Letty obviously thought I did so I figured I should trust my teacher's assessment. I lifted my wing off of Aurora, and drifted deep into my own thoughts. She dropped her wing over me instead.
She could tell that I was agitated. There was no reason for me not to be agitated. Letty was going to throw me at every challenge on the way down to our meeting. He planned on the flight only taking us a week at most, but we were going to leave ten days before the meeting so that I would have more time to practice if I needed it. Something told me he was going to make me use every minute of that extra time.
The next week was going to suck. He was going to make sure of it. I frowned at the thought. Aqua had pretty tight control over the other wyverns, and she was completely loyal to me so I was able to control them through her. Although a few of them had chosen their own masters since coming here.
