THE APOCALYPSE

My conscious sober just like magic, she's attracted to my every thought. She's my anaesthetic. I would show a middle finger to anyone who said she and I were wasting time and would never work, I'm pretty sure they are just jealous of us. She was my magic and I would rather keep chanting incantations for the rest of my life and not looking for any other woman, I already knew her motive and she knew mine. You okay?" I asked brushing her cheek with my thumb, her face was so smooth. She just nodded and cupped her head in her palms, resting her hands on the knees, still on the floor. She sat pulling her legs up to her chest. Her face with that look you just knew something is up. "Probably I drank too much wine, my head is fuzzy and heavy" she rolled her eyes at me when she caught me staring like in disbelief, still I wasn't sure I had come out of my head. I shook my head and said I was going to get some ice. "I need water first" she softly requested with that voice I can't say no to... This is mature content.

I tiptoed, peeped again and "Tadaa!" I screamed as I burst in the kitchen. She wasn't stunned as I expected, "Thought I'd scream honey? You should put a little bit of practice." speaking in a matter of factly and a wide smile spreading over her angelic face. I just held my head in my hands and watched her do what she loves, baking.

She was holding eggs in a bowl, articulate stirring, poured milk, stirred, I was getting hypnotized by her movements, accurate, none of her mixture spilt over, she was humming and singing words of a rap song that I was tacken aback.

"push me to the edge, all my friends are dead..." This girl is something else, unpredictable but is still sexy as hell. I thought her vibe was RnB, life's full of surprises. Her choice of songs was cocktail of everything. But I didn't expect to hear a Lil Uzi song.

It somehow sent shock waves down my spine, why would she be rapping that but I pushed the dark thought away, it was a chilling feeling I had to ask.

"Why this song?" I pouted

"what?, you are surprised I rap too? You will get used to it."

This girl literally drips confidence, but she still hasn't said why this song. She is my favorite song playing on repeat, an answer to question I'm not sure I asked . She was smiling like the angel of righteousness and kissed me with those sinful lips. Getting shy every time she kissed me. I will never have enough of her, I have seen her almost nude a couple of times already but she's not yet used to this.

Roy Orbinson's She's A Mystery playing. Valentine's eyes still transfixed on me after that short episode of shyness, she was back to her steel behavior. This particular song made her relax and listen as I sang the parts I knew, haha, my raspy voice earning me a soft slap on my arm, I loved the song, it reminds me of what in reality Val is. Shy and so confident. I shuffled through her Playlist and played another song I liked, a song that always reminds me of her. A song about her. A song I wrote and she sang it. The words dripped from the speakers.

*Tell me my love, that I'm your sweet pain, your favourite mistake

There is only you,

My words, my silences,

My happiness and my anguish

My passions, they all begin and end with you

Our flesh may wither away and become dust

But our souls will remain together... "

Her voice always soothing, she smiled and hugged me so tight like she had just landed her eyes on me got the first time since I got to the kitchen. Her hug spoke volumes, she sniffed on my shoulder and I held her tighter.

Held her face in my hands looked into those brown eyes and kissed her tears away. She shyly smiled and was healed. That song was a long life promise we both made to each other.

"Ne m'oubliez pa's"...

"Put it over there, that picture costs more than my life, careful! " A female voice came through the open living room window. We have a new neighbour who is already barking orders outside to the movers.

She was short yes but was too loud, I guess everyone has their own way of life. Her face full of colours, too much make-up. A bit irritating but hey c'mon is the 21st century and nobody cares how you dress. Her tight skirt showing most of her legs. She was light skin, and she bent to collect something when she glared in my direction, f*ck!

I peeled my eyes off her, and shut the damn window. She smiled at me. This isn't a good time!

My subconscious shut the scene I saw out of my head and screamed back up! Back up!

To say the truth, she sparked some funny feeling inside me, some kind of dislike if that's a thing.

"Hi neighbour" she waved enthusiastically from across the hall as she got out of her apartment, with a wide smile plastering her cute face without makeup. Probably going for an evening walk.

"Hello" I waved back and turned the key to my apartment.

Phew!

I switched off the lights and turned the TV on. Crisscrossing my feet and placed them on the coffee table. I wish I could hug myself right now, because Val would never let me put my feet up, but since she was out this weekend, I could do whatever I wanted to do.

Took my phone and skimmed through the apps, opened Web Novel, read a story for less than 15 minutes and was feeling tired. Closed the app, but my eyes caught the sight of Twitter, I glared then opened to see what made the trends on a day like this. But it wasn't much just new music releases.

I was heavy eyed, hadn't watched a single scene from a repeat of Game of Thrones.

Damn there wasn't anything interesting when Val was out. I slipped into my head and thought of her, I pressed my phone and revealed a photo, took a look at picture I took when she had dozzed off. So pretty with her hair on her face, lips parted slightly, lightly snoring. I still love this picture, she wasn't a fan so I took when she didn't look. Dangerous but was worth the trouble.

With a smile.

I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to some irritating noise, who the f*ck wakes people this early. My eyes were still heavy from sleep, unable to sleep tight. I was damn annoyed and got out of the front door, slammed it shut and headed towards the damn noise banging in my head, I was now fuming. Blood boiled in my ears and felt my heart beating in my head. I was furious when I knocked once, twice, my patience was wearing thin with each passing second.

"hello neighbour" she said inviting me in.

" Can you turn down the volume please?" I was not in the mood for invitations or pleasantries at the moment, I just wanted the noise gone.

"Maybe I will turn it down if you are a good neighbour and come in" what is really wrong with this woman?

"I will pass" I said my voice cold and turned away
