"Bleurgh! Damn—ack! Bleurgh!"
The sound of Dan Shi's painful gagging could be heard inside the whole mansion.
Her eyes turned red and teary while a blend of snot and saliva contoured her delicate features, "Puchi, I'm... I'm dying. This creature inside me is killing me! Bleurgh!" she cried before having another bout of retching.
"Puh..." the black fog whimpered as though it was giving her a nudge.
A hand formed like it was made of dark cotton was behind Dan Shi rubbing her back gently as she battled an intrinsic war called woes of pregnancy.
Dan Shi sniffled, blaming, "Damn it aah! I'm so hungry, I want to eat meat okay? MEAT! Argh! But this thing... this fussy creature inside me won't accept it! I'm so done with greens and those damn bananas," she slammed the table filled with three bloody chickens that she wanted to eat but couldn't.
In the end, she can only glare at her bulging stomach, "I swear, Puchi, this thing is trying to make me become a primate—ack!" she groaned when she felt a kick.
See, it even agreed! Dan Shi gritted her teeth and roared.
"Do you think I will eat your banana? Hell, if you don't like my food then I will also not compromise with you! Let's starve together!" she pettily threatened as though the baby inside her would hear her and understand.
Still, her growling stomach said otherwise.
"This thing's father must be a fucking gorilla! A gorilla, I tell you!"
Dan Shi stared at the raw meat in front of her with so much longing as though it was a lover she hadn't seen in ten years.
Even though she wanted to take a bite, her throat was already aching from all the throwing up she went through!
It's been a week since she came to this world.
Who would have known that this useless body was a certified homebody who only knew a thing or two about this place?
For Pete's sake, what's the use of transmigrating to another body, if she still needs to start from scratch again?
Simply for that reason, Dan Shi who had met with a 'little' issue outside after cleaning up the Ming estate had no choice but to stay and hide in her personal space where she erected the whole land area and buildings that she uprooted.
"Master, are you sure you will not eat again?"
A small voice of a girl resonated in her ears and reminded her of her action. It was Puchi after gaining the ability to speak through one of the level packages Dan Shi got as a reward previously.
With a hint of disdain, it uttered wryly, "Didn't you try that starving trick already? You almost died and had to spend another thousand life points to save your ass. Your body is that of a weak human right now, you can't be impulsive in this life."
Since it might be her last, Puchi didn't want her to be rash. If her master perish, she will be a goner too!
Dan Shi glanced at her with an unhappy expression but she fully understood what her animal spirit meant.
The girl wiped her blood-smeared mouth and stood up. Puchi's large cloudy-morphed hand carefully assisted her while Dan Shi's hand was on her swollen belly.
"Ah, careful! Master, where... where are you trying to go? You can't move much. Your big belly might crack!"
The cloud entity became frantic when she saw that Dan Shi wasn't trying to head toward her resting quarter but to the path leading outside.
"Aish! Will you stop nagging?" said Dan Shi with a hint of annoyance.
Now she was quite rueful, giving Puchi the reward, 'So noisy!'
"I'm going to the lake outside and find some clams to eat. If you say another word, I will kick you back to the blue realm and let yourself enslave under that old man," she threatened and went straight out the door.
Puchi looked at her departing figure.
As her master stepped on the exit of their spiritual space, Puchi could no longer stop her and just kept her trap shut afraid to bear the brunt of the upset hungry ghost.
Although the door seemed unremarkable to any ordinary person's eyes, when Dan Shi pushed open the large twin ancient doors which were previously erected inside the Ming Manor as its gate, it revealed a circular wave resembling that of a portal.
Once she passed through the doorway, just a few minutes later, Dan Shi's scenery changed from the suffocating walls of the eastern mansion to a damped greenery.
She stepped out of the portal that manifested on a huge Acacia tree at the heart of the forest. As quickly as it appeared, the quicker it vanished when Dan Shi's feet met with the sharp-cut green grass and moss.
"Phew!" she took a deep breath and scanned her surroundings. Her purplish eyes were enhanced.
A series of bone-crackling noises could be heard as her back grew a powerful pair of wings.
"This... argh... is just so painful every time I change into that girl's beast form." she groaned in gritted teeth while her wings were taking into shape, "Just how long did she not transform for her bones to be so uselessly fragile?" she complained, panting heavily despite only being able to equip wings and unsharpened small talons.
For now, this was the highest extent of her endurance and pain tolerance. Any more and she will bleed to death due to the forceful bodily transformation.
Dan Shi won't be so dumb to make the same mistake twice and spend another thousand life points.
Just thinking how the freaking system is scamming her of a thousand life points each time she gets into trouble or the kid inside her is making her have internal bleeding instead.
Three thousand life points in a row because of almost dying.
Surely those sages hiding in the mountains trying to gain enlightenment and reach transcendence would definitely vomit blood in anger if they knew about it.
What a wasteful ghost!
"Systems are fucking scams!" Dan Shi tutted with ire.
If not for the fact that she cannot yet turn into her previous life's behemoth, Dan Shi wouldn't transform into a pesky half-baked fowl!
"Pfft!"
A sudden chuckle pulled Dan Shi from her reverie and made her become alert.
"Who's there? Show yourself or your end will not be pleasant," she shouted, her hand baring its claws ready to strike at any moment. Her face instantly crumpled, this body's senses are just too unreliable.
No wonder the previous owner won't step outside. She will definitely die in a heartbeat.
'Puchi, scan the surroundings and tell me the—'
Before she could finish her words for Puchi, a black stallion with sleek, sparkly wings having a semblance of the cosmic scheme, appeared from behind the tall shrubs and neighed with fervor.
Freely flaunting its wavy, long mane sprouting on its back like a glossy, inky curtain.
"Finally, you're out, my love." he greeted with a wide passionate grin.
Meanwhile, the long, high-pitched sound of its whinny didn't fail to irk Dan Shi.
"Why is this huge donkey here again?" she clucked her tongue when she saw the familiar horse giving her that familiar irritating greeting.
She just came out!
How did he know she'd be out this time when she stayed cooped inside her space for three days?
"This sleazy bastard…!" Dan Shi gritted in displeasure and grabbed a brick from her space, "I told you to leave me alone and you're still stalking me? Do you really want to die, huh?" she yelled and fiercely aimed to hit the black horse's annoying face nonstop as Puchi gladly provided her an 'ammo' while dismantling a whole block of a brick wall.
"What?! Did you just call me a huge donkey? I'm a great Black Pegasus, you—ouch!"
