“There are still portals that link the worlds. But that knowledge is highly prized, very secret. Guardians protect it. And don’t let looks fool you, either.” Lin wagged a finger at him.
“What? Looks? What do you mean?”
“No one race is entirely good or evil. Fey, shifters, vampires, angels, demons. None are wholly good, and none wholly bad. That was just humankind again. Gotta give them labels and put them in nicely packaged boxes.” Keitha clasped her hands to her chest. “Ooh, they have radiant skin, golden wings, and are sooobeautiful. They must be good. Eww, they have horns, black, leathery wings, and red eyes. They must be evil.”
“And, then of course, there’s the glamour.” Lin nodded her head.
“Glamour?” Shaw rubbed at his temples as the start of a headache made its presence known.
“That how some of the more powerful walk amongst humans. They appear just like anyone else, but it’s like an illusion. They really look completely different.”
