A Request to a Prince
It seemed like the perfect opportunity for her to bring up the issue that was foremost on her mind. Their time together was coming to an end, and this might be her last opportunity to speak so closely to the prince.
“What is it?” he asked softly.
“I know that you don’t have any good reason to help me, but still, I would like to ask for a favor,” she said as she stared into his eyes with determination.
It was the tone of her voice and the way that she was staring unwaveringly at Darius and made him curious about what kind of request she would make of him.
“You’re right. I might not be able to help you and even if I could help you, I may not want to but I’m willing to listen to your request,” he replied smoothly.
“The truth is, I came here to look for someone,” she said.
“Who are you looking for?” he asked without hiding his surprise.
“My sister,” she replied without breaking eye contact with the prince.
