The Alpha King's Vengeful Mate

In a single fateful night, Selena's world was shattered as she tragically lost her entire family and pack. To protect her from the dangers that lurked within their own kind, she was transformed into a vulnerable human. For over a decade, she sought solace and security within the confines of human territory, until a heart-wrenching twist of fate took her on an unimaginable journey. Betrayed by her foster family, Selena was callously sold off to settle a debt owed to a heartless organ trafficker who provided them with a life-saving transplant. But little did she know that the buyer later gets sold to, would turn out to be her destined mate—the very alpha of the pack she had sworn to destroy in her quest for vengeance. Bound by an inexplicably powerful mate bond, Selena found herself torn between her relentless desire for retribution and the magnetic pull drawing her towards her sworn enemy. The scales of her heart tipped precariously as she battled the conflicting forces within her. Alpha Greyson, tormented by their undeniable connection, struggled with the overwhelming urge to reject Selena. However, the indomitable mate bond defied all logic, leaving him tethered to her against his will. As their destinies collided amidst a whirlwind of emotions, the question lingered—would the unbreakable bond between them be enough to keep them bound together, or would their irreconcilable desires tear them apart?

Our Mate

The beautiful scent that filled my nose even before the door was pushed open had my wolf excited. When I met those beautiful hazel eyes, I knew she was my mate. There was no foul play in the way she made my heart race, the way she made me want to stand up and take her away from the man behind her.

I knew why she was brought in. The man behind her had told me he had fresh "goods" that just arrived and he wanted to show her to me to see if I would be interested in buying. And my very own mate was brought in as the "goods."

I was so close to killing the man for the insult, but I wouldn't have cared if it was a regular girl. But the girl before me was my mate. My mate who turned out to be the biggest insult and punishment the Moon Goddess has chosen to bestow upon me.

My pack and I don't deserve a weakling trembling like a solo blade of grass in the wind. She was weaker than even the weakest omega in my pack. She was even more worthless than them because, after all, they had the chance to change their fate, but how can a human become a werewolf?

It has never been recorded that any werewolf found a mate among humans. Those who thought they were bold enough to get married to a human simply because they did not find their mate got the worst from both humans and werewolves. So how could I, as an Alpha with so many people to protect, bring back a human as my mate?

"Our mate," my wolf almost growled out of me. I tried to block my wolf from forcing those words out of my lips. I turned away to prevent her from seeing it. With her being a human, I was almost certain she would not understand, even if I announced it to her. But I could not let her see it, regardless. And the man behind her once lived among werewolves and knew a lot about us.

I can't accept her as my mate. She might be pretty, but pretty isn't what my pack needs. They need a Luna from the Moon Goddess who would protect them as a mother and oracle of the Moon Goddess, and a weak human can't be any of that.

Her hazel eyes got teary, and like a broken faucet, tears began to stream down her cheeks, further confirming to me how pathetic she was. I was sure at that moment that I would never accept her. I wouldn't even grant her the grace of my rejection because she was not worth it.

I was sure that she would be killed soon. All I needed to do was wait for a couple of years at the longest, if she got sold to be a sex worker. And if the man behind her chose to take her organs, she would die before I left the human territory.

When she was dead, I would not need to reject her, and I might be granted a new mate. Hopefully, this time, the Moon Goddess wouldn't be too harsh on my pack and me by pushing a worthless human onto us.

If I were not an Alpha and hadn't benefited the most from the strong love the Moon Goddess has for her followers, I would have been blasphemous enough to say she made a mistake. So, I could only think of what I did wrong to incur her wrath.

Glancing at the man behind my mate was enough for him to know I was displeased before I looked at that weakling, not bothering to hide what I felt about her. I guessed she must have noticed that as she fell to the floor to beg me, although she said no words.

She was dragged out of the room, and I could not exhale

the breath I held as I felt a sharp pain through my chest that almost led to me spitting out blood. That was bad. What I did to her just now was pure evil, but I never claimed to be a good person to begin with.

"What have you done?" my wolf asked, and I tried to ignore him, but he wasn't giving me the chance this time.

"Let's go back," he urged.

There was no way I would return to that mansion for any reason, much less to take their trash out for them. If I said I was okay with leaving her to die there, then I would be the worst liar. I was not even trying to deny the fact that seeing her in that state hurt me, but as an Alpha, I had to make decisions in the best interest of my pack.

"He has never brought a woman to you," my wolf reminded me, despite my fruitless efforts to block him out.

He was right. I had done business with Jackson for years, but he had never brought a woman to me. He knew I needed a mate, like many other werewolves around the world, so why did he choose to bring that woman to me?

Even with my determination, I couldn't ease the weird feeling my wolf's words brought me. If he had never brought a woman before, did he have a reason to have done that? If that was the case, then I should be glad I avoided that disaster by rejecting her. But what if he suspects that she was my mate? Or what if she tells him something?

Those were all me simply overthinking, until my wolf said, "I felt something strange from her. She didn't feel completely human at all."

He was right because I remember feeling that way too. There was something hidden deep, and the fact that she was human made it ignorable. If she was a witch, she would know that I was her mate since she would be attracted to me beyond any amount of attraction she had experienced in the past.

If she was a witch, then I was sure she might not die, and that would require me to reject her. A witch grasping the weakness of an Alpha could be the downfall of the whole pack. I needed to reject her and have her killed to end this sour feeling that all of this brought me.

"Let's go back," I ordered the driver immediately.

There was something I felt I was not in control of throughout the journey, and one of the things I hated the most was feeling out of control in any situation. And one that concerned my mate was one I had to control completely, regardless of how I did it.
