As he sat on the couch in the comfy Room, his mind slowly drifted to his last ecounter with one of his people.
....
" My Lord."
A white head had appeared and called. He turned and faced Reuben. One of his most trusted men.
"Any news?"
"We couldn't find them anymore"
The handsome Stranger closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh. "No traces left behind?"
"None at all"
The stranger frowned slightly,
"Find them." He ordered and Reuben bowed.
"And an eye on the western king. I think he has some dealings with those scums." He added as he walked out to his car.
"And you sir?" Reuben asked as he slowly raised his head up.
The stranger halted.
He knew Reuben would surely dare to ask.
"Tell Pete I'm meeting with Korinna"
Reuben eyes widened.
"The witch Sire! My Lord, She's dangerous"
Dangerous?
That didn't matter right now.
Besides..
The stranger titled his face backwards forcing Reuben to take a safety step back because his eyes were already pitch black.
No one had the stupid guts to argue with this man.
"Reuben.." His master drawled and his voice terrifying. Reuben gulped.
"Did you forget so soon?"
"Dangerous? But I'm the bringer of doom"
........
Meeting with the witch was now something he wasn't sure of anymore. That was why he agreed to stay back. Korinne wouldve known about Alex just by looking into his eyes and that was suicide at least till he found out what or who Alex really was.
And about Alex...
Why did she have to show up now of all times. It felt as if the whole universe were mocking him. First, with the territorial business and the rouges and now a woman that he didnt quite know of but was sure she was trouble.
"Why don't I have Clothes?" Her voice brought him back to reality.
He looked up from the magazine in his hands, looking as composed as ever as if he was actually reading the damn book.
His eyes traced the female who stood some paces away. And there was a problem, he couldn't just look away. She was putting on a red robe that matched with her fire red blazing hair. It was wet, she must've washed maybe because of the rain. His eyes finally slowly went back to her face only to meet her brow arched at him. She shouldn't blame him, he could see her shape through that robe and damn! She was curvy.
"I asked a question?" She reminded him while he suddenly cleared his throat as if he choked on something.
"uh. I purchased it, alongside the room" He pointed out.
Alex sighed. He didn't get clothes for her in other words, great!
She was going to sleep with the robe on. Not her business anyway, he was the one at big risk.
"You didn't come with any money?" He asked.
Alex laughed softly walking towards the bed, that was an embarrassing question.
"I guess I was thinking of my safety first, huh?" She sat down and looked at him.
The stranger looked away after some seconds of starring at each other. To his magazine his eyes went, he didn't want them indulging with each other. But he had to reply her comment. From the corner of his eye he saw her finally looking elsewhere than him, the pictures on the wall.
"Female werewolves are the dangerous ones. Why do you talk about safety when you're the danger?" It wasn't a question but a statement.
Alex eyes landed on him after hearing him speak, she let out a soft smile alongside a silent sigh.
This man, huh?
"Don't you have somewhere to be tomorrow? You should be sleeping." She said instead.
The stranger looked up to her and their eyes locked.
Did she find out that he wasn't really reading the book?
He panicked down and slowly opened another page while holding her gaze.
"I'm sleepy but someone is obstructing my pass."
Alex looked at him confused, so he elaborated more.
" I'm staying on the bed." He said and Alex wrinkled her eyebrows.
"Yes. And we are sharing it" She replied but he snickered and stood from the couch dropping the magazine he never concentrated on.
"No." He said. " You'll be sleeping on this couch."
Her eyes remained fixed on him and a tiny scoff almost escaped her lips.
Sexy but arrogant?
Handsome but jerk blood?
She didn't hate it though, infact she was ready for a challenge.
"Because?" She asked him making the stranger to narrow his eyes at her.
Not complying?
"What?"
"I want a reason" She declared.
"Do I need a reason?" He asked and tucked his hands into his pockets.
This woman was something else.
She didn't reply him so he smiled and continued.
"I purchased this room. I own the bed "
"I invited you over" She said back.
"It's my money"
"Under whose name? Mine."
Her comeback made her lift her chin upwards as the successor.
The stranger laughed. His hair moving backwards Abit, he looked at her and smiled.
"Fine." He sighed and stopped smiling. "I don't have strength for this" He told her and moved to the bed to get pillows.
He shouldn't be arguing with a woman.. That's so.. unlike him.
"Do you eat pillows?" Her voice broke out. He looked her frowning face with his expressionless one.
"At least leave some for me. You can take the others." She softly spoke and he dropped one pillow for her making her curse slightly but she refused to talk again. She had enough for one night.
The stranger moved to the couch and prepared to sleep. Alex watched him lay down with a blanket coverings his lower body. She sighed out and laid down too, facing him and then after awhile turned off the table light.
There was pure silence but the two creatures knew they were not yet gone into slumber. They could hear each other's heartbeat. And somehow, it was comforting.
"I'm Alex by the way" Alex broke the silence by introducing her self.
Silence filled the room once more. The stranger refusing to answer.
"I Know" The stranger finally replied.
Alex smiled in relief, she almost thought he had snubbed her. Her smile died when he didn't say anything afterwards.
"Want to tell me yours?"
"No."
She frowned.
"Then can I ask a question?"
"Maybe."
Alex rolled her eyes, "How did you know me?"
"I don't"
Alex brows arched in confusion.
What was he blabbing now?
"But you said you u knew my name was Alex, you also knew my beast form" She paused.
"What exactly are you?"
He didn't respond for a while.
His kind were creatures that were long gone. They existed in many places but were in hiding. He was one of the oldest.
"A Creature" He replied and received Alex sigh as a response.
D'uhh She was a creature too.
"Damn right, you're a creature. So am I. But I'm asking for your kind.. Your beast."
He went again in silence making Alex rage inwardly in frustration.
"Your heartbeat is different. I haven't heard such before."
"I'm quite old"
"I can feel it" She admitted.
"You carry a particular aura that scares.." She paused and he found himself smiling.
"Well, not me but maybe others. Others tat are weak and fragile."
He let out a sigh. She was trying too hard.
"Sleep." He told her instead.
"Nothing about me is interesting" He added and heard her scoff.
"I'm interesting. Do you want to ask me anything?"
"No." His voice made her bite down her tongue.
"Are you sure? I have some crazy history" She tried again and heard him sigh.
"How old are you?" He asked her finally after a short silence.
Alex face brightened up and she also wanted to laugh. A soft chuckle echoed softly in the quiet room causing it to sound like a melody to the strangers ears but the laugh was... Mocking.
"Of all things to ask..." She laughed again.
"Is that an uncomfortable question?" He asked her unsure of why his question was funny.
"No.No." She laughed.
"It's Twenty-eight.'
The strangers lips muttered it softly again. Alex didn't hear him.
"Young" He told her. " Too young"
"Mm. Tell me yours then old man"
He smiled. " I don't have one"
"Huh?" Alex leaned up from the bed.
"You don't have an age or you don't know your age?"
"Both."
"Oh.." Alex bit down her lower lip.
Was he that old not to remember?
Man!!!
She had been disrespectful ever since!!
"Then you must be really old... Sir?"
