Sage kept glancing at the door. The seat beside her was empty and the class was about to start. She hadn’t seen Nikolas since he walked her to the Shifter Tower. It wasn’t like him to skip class. She frowned. Maybe he was sick?
The class started without him. Sage put her friend from her mind and tried to focus on the professor. The minutes drew on, becoming unbearably long.
She wondered if she should look for him, but then considered that he might be angry with her. They had yet to speak about Caspian since the night he’d snapped at her. It could be that he was avoiding her. After their last interaction, it wouldn’t be that far-fetched of an idea. He had seemed so angry…
Sage couldn’t help her eyes wandering the halls, searching for Nikolas in between her classes. He didn’t show up for any of their shared classes.
She was on her way to herbology when Caspian grasped her arm and pulled her around a corner. He kissed her, taking her breath away.
