Chapter 48: The Dragon Express to Evenhide

It started with Weather Moon, the pack’s tutor, and her students exclaiming that they saw a huge bird of prey on the horizon during a field trip.
Then, the hunters all agreed via mind-link while roaming after deer that it looked like the smoke from a bonfire.
The sentries at the border informed anyone within howling range and via mind-link that those sightings didn’t tell the whole story. That in fact a dragon approached the Evenhide lands. Not just a dragon, but a dragon drawing some sort of a carriage or gondola.
Because of a quick mind-link from his little brothers on their way from Wildefell, Dane Cresta sprang into action, calling the entire pack together.
He stood outside Cresta House with Lilia, Jiro, and Garnet on his right and Kyon, Azandra, and Ravyn on his left. All eyes were on the sky, watching and waiting for the arrival of what Garnet termed the Dragon Express, which had rather a nice ring to it.
