Chapter 44: The Pallamarok Rite of Soul Fusion

Anneliese POV
Cyran and Tulaska lay on the altar together. Tulaska’s head was by Cyran’s feet and his feet were near her head.
Anneliese, Patch, Dirge, and Kulenza gathered around the altar. Wings flapping, Lindrat hovered above while Cornelius stayed quiet in Dirge’s arms.
Anneliese and Patch clasped hands around the Monkey Stone and chanted along with Kulenza.
“You have been eaten by the dragon and come out the other side,” Kulenza said.
Anneliese, Dirge, and Patch repeated, “You have been eaten by the dragon and come out the other side.”
Kulenza turned to Anneliese and recited, her arms spread, “You have come home where the heart is.”
Anneliese said with her whole heart, “You have come home where the heart is.”
She knew that coming home for Cyran would not be easy, but Kulenza had told them that “home” was a state of mind.
