Chapter 35: Making Love and Peace
Patch POV
He must have dozed off, maybe after the second time he and Anneliese made love, because his eyes opened and adjusted to the cocoon of the dark. The only light was the stars and the glow from the city that he could see from the far window. He wasn’t used to a big, overwhelming city like this with buildings that reached up to the heavens. In his heart, he felt like a country boy and was d*mn proud of it.
But the city had its charms. And one of those charms lay wrapped around him, kissing his shoulder to show she loved him.
“Welcome back,” she said in a soft voice.
He turned in her embrace and took a moment to admire her dreamy expression and her lips red and swollen from his kisses, as well as her hair framing her face in a tousled and wild pink halo.
The minute he’d claimed her with his bite, he knew there was no going back. Ever. He both wanted to smack Tulaska and hug her for keeping quiet. And he owed Azandra a huge debt.
