Chapter 34: I Want You
Patch POV
He had to get to his mate!
Why did the halls seem so d*mn endless, even on four legs?
His eyes turned golden and his wolf vision scanned every corner for anyone or anything that could get in his way. What was that? Oh. Another stupid statue. Never mind.
A paw swatted at him from behind and he spun, coming nose to nose with Dirge. “Don’t say it. We messed up. And don’t tell the elders.”
Dirge’s gaze flicked away for a second.
“You did! Why do you always have to go running to them?”
“They were more worried than anything,” Dirge whimpered. “And they said to go apologize to Anneliese first, because–”
Jiro’s voice immediately soothed Patch’s aching nerves. “We can handle Makhel later. It’s more important to your future and the pack that you go and make things right with your mate.”
Patch stood still, his paws glued to the floor. He honestly hadn’t expected Jiro to react that way.
