"Are we going anywhere now?" Harumi asked.
"There aren't any lessons." Akito replied.
There was an awkward moment anytime Akito and Harumi spoke. Due to recent incidents, Akito and Harumi's relationship has gone awkward however whenever they are alone it isn't awkward. I only know this because I have seen them together, alone in the school hospital after Akito regained consciousness.
I then noticed that Kaori was giving me signals. It wasn't hard to know what they meant when she was speaking sign language.
"Kaori-chan." Kaori almost growled at that. "I need to see what you might have missed out on in mathematics and science. Being your tutor I was worried."
Akito and Harumi almost burst out laughing after hearing that I was "worried" for someone.
"Fine then, we'll just stay here then." Akito said as he laughed a little. He then looked at Harumi and they stared at each other before going red and trying to find something else to look at.
How do they not know? It's so obvious. Why did I choose these two?
We left the classroom and entered the unusually empty hallway.
"What is it?" I asked Kaori.
"No chance for small talk." Kaori said with a sigh as she prepared herself to say the next thing. "Harumi told me something happened between her and Akito in the school hospital after we left."
"I know."
"What? How do you know?"
"For research purposes, I planted a few microphones and a few cameras. To be honest, it looked like something straight of a romance manga."
"I didn't know you were into that."
"I'm not."
Kaori suddenly stopped in the middle of the hallway. She then looked into the distance where the hallway continued and multiple other classes were. I then looked at her and saw she had an expression I had never seen. On her face was an expression I had never seen on Kaori and there she was, standing in the middle of the hallway, looking into the distance.
Was it fear? Embarrassment? Anger? Worry? The expression she had was nothing I had ever seen. Although many humans would probably know instantly what she was feeling I lacked the ability to do so.
Even if I was the strongest creature on this planet and even if I was one of the most intelligent, at the end of the day I am still the child that was robbed from my parents for government research. Anything that didn't happen in that place I would not have known.
"What is it Kaori?"
Kaori realised that I didn't add any honorifics and that I was serious. She could tell what emotions I felt even if I had the same expression all the time.
Wait…this was one of Kaori's abilities. She could fake an expression that could make people change their whole perspective on her. I almost fell for it because it was an expression that portrayed an emotion I thought I had no knowledge of.
It seems like I have more mental growth to do.
"Oh, nothing. Thought I saw something."
"Let's go to a restaurant and make think of some plans."
Kaori agreed and we took the elevator to the ground floor. To my surprise it was empty. We walked through the empty floor and exited the building. We should've done that first but Kaori seemed interested in the other classrooms.
I had no idea why there were so many classrooms. They probably have other plans to use those rooms by dividing each class into groups depending on their skills in a certain subject.
As we were outside the wind blew calmly but it seemed to get more and more faster. As we were walking towards the restaurant the wind blew hard causing Kaori's miniskirt to flutter. Kaori then held her skirt down until the wind calmed down.
"Pervert." Kaori said as she looked at me.
"What's there to see in the first place? Or was there something you wanted me to see?"
Kaori then tried to attack me but I dodged all her attacks. Her punches seemed as if she was just throwing them without giving them any thought and her stance was all wrong. If the person who taught me martial arts saw this, Kaori wouldn't live. She will be forced to live through hell until she got it right. Kaori then threw another punch but this time it seemed like a real one. She threw a punch with an almost perfect stance but I caught it. I grabbed her wrist which she then pulled back after she felt her wrist being squeezed. No matter how hard I tried I could control my strength to the point where I wanted it to be.
"What the hell's with that grip strength?" Kaori said as she tended to her hurt wrist.
Was it not at least above average?
"Isn't it average?"
"Average? Are you insane? Do you even know what your grip strength is?"
To think of it I've never actually measured any of my abilities—I just knew that I shouldn't show them to the public or else the same thing might happen.
We then continued our walk to the restaurant but we were stopped by a group of students. These students were second-years and it seems that they knew about the incident that happened yesterday.
I knew this would happen so I took precautions. My backpack had at least two tonnes of weight and I still had the weight from that incident. A few tonnes wasn't enough for me to feel the weight but it did slow down my movements. If this did escalate then I will have to end this quickly as the plans for Akito and Harumi were still yet to be discussed.
"Are you the first-year that fought with Tatsuya?" A student said. The student was around 195cm: his muscular build was visible and it showed through his uniform.
I wouldn't call it a fight if they had no chance. This student must be the infamous Ogre.
The nickname did make me almost laugh because of how insulting it would be to have that type of name after being so weak and hubristic but if that's how this student acted then it would be a great joy to humble him.
"If you're talking about the seven second-years who lost against a first-year even after using weapons two days ago then yes, I am the student you are looking for." I said. The five second-years that stood behind the so-called "Ogre" were visibly perplexed by my reaction. A normal person would fear him due to his size and muscle and his black belt in Karate and Aikido but they were martial arts I mastered at the age of six.
"You're pretty cocky for a boy with such a frail body."
The "Ogre" then threw a simple punch but he did put power into it. I didn't bother dodging it and I almost felt the attack on my stomach but it didn't inflict any pain.
"That punch could destroy a normal wall but it didn't even make him flinch." One of the background students said.
I took off my bag and threw it onto the floor. The bag fell onto the floor with a large thud but the ground didn't break or crack. I then moved quicker than they could react and gave a simple yet powerful punch to the Ogre's abdomen. I put no technique in it yet the "Ogre" was on the floor coughing out blood. I hadn't even put much power into it which meant that my control had increased.
Although I had taken down the "Ogre" it wasn't enough to scare Kaori as she knew her brother was much stronger than "Ogre" and his gang was incredibly strong with multiple branches stretching all across Japan but Kaori was still surprised. She had made her observations and labeled me as a smart yet weak student. Now I was just smart and strong.
"Who wants to fight now?"
The other second-years watched their helpless leader cough out blood from a single punch. They were significantly weaker than "Ogre" even if they combined forces and a first-year had just defeated him with a single punch. They then ran away but left their so-called "Ogre".
"Go." I commanded "Ogre" and he ran. He ran but then stopped every few seconds to catch some air. "Let's go eat."
As we walked towards the restaurant I wanted the silence to remain, sadly fate had other plans.
"You're really good at fighting." Kaori said, almost with pride. "You know "Ogre" is one of the strongest students in the school. He has a black belt in both karate and aikido and his punches could destroy brick walls."
Ryuuji Ochiyama, also known as "Ogre", is a black belt in both karate and aikido. He weighs around 110kg and is 195cm. He can destroy a brick wall with his punches and can lift around 150kg and has a grip strength of 120kg.
"So you're saying that I am one of the strongest in the school now?"
"Seeing how easily you took down Ochiyama-senpai, you could be in the top 10 or in the top 5."
I'm sure I'm somewhere at the top, Kaori-chan, but I don't want to stand out with my fighting skills.
I mastered most martial arts at a young age but it wasn't to show off or to win tournaments. It was purely for self defence. I had to fight to live. It was a world where it was "kill or be killed". If you didn't fight you would die. It was the law of the jungle where you had no allies you could completely trust. To trust someone is the same as giving your soul to someone.
