Chapter 7

"I'm home!" Ciaran shouted as he entered the door. He saw Lux gone from the sofa. "Wait, where is he?"

"Delia, did you see that boy—" Ciaran was interrupted by Delia.

"Be quiet! He's sleeping!" Delia whispered to her older brother before pointing at Lux on her bed.

In the living room, Ciaran looked disappointed, "Why is he upstairs in your room? I told him to stay here!"

"I guess it's because I screamed. There was a cockroach that came out of nowhere. He got worried, so he ran up there and worsened his injury. After I killed the roach and threw it away, I asked him to play with my dolls with me, and after I made up an entire story, he got tired and fell asleep," Delia explained to her brother.

A stair creaked, and both Delia and Ciaran turned their heads to see Lux just waking up. "I think this step needs to be fixed," he mumbled.

"Hey! Didn't I tell you to—" Before Ciaran could finish his sentence, Lux fell from the stairs.

"Shit, My head…" Lux tried to mumbled before slipping into unconsciousness.

A few days passed...

Lux woke up, gasping for air.

"YOU'RE AWAKE!" Delia screamed in relief.

"How long was I gone?" Lux asked.

"Three days, three nights," Delia replied. "Also, my brother made you porridge just now. He thought you would wake up soon because you moved. I denied it, but I guess he was right."

Delia handed the porridge to Lux, and he ate it.

"You know, I'm trying to remember how I recognized you as someone else. She was also young. She is either my friend or sister. You and your brother's relationship reminds me of someone else too…" Lux suddenly spoke.

"I know you lost your memories, but you'll find them. Don't worry," Delia reassured him with a smile.

Back at the castle...

"Where is brother Lux?" Martha asked.

Mateo carried Martha up and replied, "I don't know, but I'm sure we will find him soon enough."

"Don't even think about it!! I ban you from finding him," the king's voice boomed from the shadows.

"Father, he is our brother. You can't ban us from finding him," Mateo protested bravely.

"Don't you remember? His mother killed your mum, my only true love. I am not letting that happen again to the next heir. " the king shouted.

"I know Lux! He wouldn't hurt a fly. I know his mother had poisoned our mother but I know he won't do it. I know he won't!" Mateo pleaded.

The king let out a sigh. "I know what I saw and I will not say it again. I saw you both in the field, he threw the pickaxe at you! He is controlled by the devil and that was the final straw, I will not risk it. Do you hear me?" the king shouted.

Mateo looked at the king with fear in his eyes. Martha was horrified to see the two fight.

"Do. You. Hear. Me?" The king said once more.

He remembered what Lux said in war.

('I am the Blade, Lux is not here right now. Don't worry darling, he will come back…')

'Was he really controlled by the devil?' Mateo thought.

Back at the hut...

"Did you like the porridge?" Delia asked.

"I guess it's alright," Lux replied.

"AH YES! Also, my brother found this. A silver mask, is it yours?" Delia inquired.

"Oh! Thank you, Delia."

"Can I see your eyes?" Delia asked, suddenly curious.

"What?" Lux wondered if he heard it correctly.

"Can I see your eyes?" Delia repeated.

"I'm sorry, but no…" Lux backed away on the couch.

"At least tell me its color, maybe?" Delia persisted.

"Nope," Lux responded firmly.

"Please! I will keep annoying you until you say yes!" Delia stood up.

"Try me," Lux challenged with a smirk.
