As he parked the vehicle in the lot, they got outside, shook hands. "Finally, we are here, let's get the ball rolling, buddy," Laura broke the silence. However, before John could utter a word, their attention was interrupted by the gatekeeper. "Hey, Laura, stop!"
Laura turned around, startled. "Whoa! You nearly gave me a heart attack there!" she exclaimed, clutching her chest dramatically. John chuckled at her over-the-top reaction.
The gatekeeper, a middle-aged man with a calm demeanour, smiled apologetically. "Sorry about that, ma'am. Didn't mean to startle you. I just need you to fill in your identification number and phone details for our records. It's for safety reasons, in case of an emergency."
Laura laughed, the tension easing out of her. "No worries, you just caught me off guard. I was too focused on getting inside and sealing the deal." She winked at John as she grabbed the clipboard and began filling in her details.
