chapter 78

--3rd person POV--

The conversation was abruptly interrupted by a call from Stiles' father, who asked if Stiles was there with Scott.

"No, he said he truly needed to sleep and remained at home" explained Scott.

"He isn't here, and his room is full of threads connected to images attached to the walls." Said sheriff Stilinski from the other side of the phone.

"I'll come and take a look" replied Scott, before hanging the call.

"It seems that there won't be any need for the Oni to keep searching for the Nogitsune among the supernaturals" commented Ann.

"What do you mean?" asked her Derek.

"It is Stiles. The void kitsune is inside him" replied Ann and when Erika heard what she said she stormed toward the first and grabbed her from her cloths.

"You! You are planning to kill him?"

"if I have to" replied Ann.

"Then you'll have to pass over us before even thinking of getting to him" stated Scott, but all people agreed.

They had their grudges and different views, but after working together they already felt like a group, whose objective is to protect this town.

If this role once belonged only to the Hale family now it had been extended to all the present people.

Stile was part of their group, and they can't just give up on him.

"It's incredible how you coexist while being so different. Well, there may be a way to save Stiles" she said nonchalantly.

"Why didn't you say so from the start?" Asked Thomas, looking at the mischievous fox.

"You didn't ask. You only asked what the ONI would have done and right now the last order that was given to them was to find and kill the void kitsune. Although it will be difficult to achieve that with just them, since kitsunes are able to kill ONI with their fox fire" she said with a pondering expression, but Thomas was sure that she was smirking inside her mind.

"So, how do we save him?" asked Scott eagerly.

"Well, I'm not sure about this method. I heard in the past that there was this guy who had once worked under a Nogitsune and there were some rumours saying he knew of a way to free a person from its possession and after a nice talk he was willing to share said secret with me" obviously this talk was similar to the one she had with Barrow.

"If you change the body of the host of the Nogitsune, then the latter will be forced outside. If you think about it, one being can't be naturally two different supernatural species, as there exist no supernatural hybrid in nature. That's also why a void kitsune can't possess a werewolf. So, if you were to give the bite to Stiles you would stand a chance at separating the two, but remember that the bite can lead to death and the presence of the Nogitsune probably increase this risk" she said.

"We can't take such a risk…" muttered Scott, while Erika just started crying.

"For now, we should concentrate on finding him. From what I understood the more time he spend outside, the more damage he'll create and with it the dark kitsune will just become stronger" stated Thomas and all people seemed to agree with him.

"I want you to stay outside of this" said Laura toward Ann.

"Why don't you trust me? Even after I told you my whole story. It was the first time I opened that much to anyone, but my heart got broken" she said, while covering her eyes as if she was about to cry.

"You have no relation with Stiles, we can't trust you that you won't kill him if you meet him" stated Laura, not bothering to comment the exhibition of the kitsune.

"I don't promise anything, but for the moment I'm going home, but do tell me if you catch him, I may not be connected to Stiles, but this matter is important for me" she said using for the first time a serious tone.

--Ann Evans POV--

"It went better than what I though" I said as I drove toward my house.

My objectives were to understand who the Nogitsune is, to create a sort of positive connection with the supernatural beings of this place and to understand who they are.

I accomplished them all.

I wanted to see just how much damage the Nogitsune could create, and I must say that it is better than what I though.

Some of them like Scott are naïve and more gullible, but I can trust the other with the ability to take important and quick decision.

Moreover, they are more connected than what I thought at first.

It would have been in worse, in fact, if they did not all agree on saving Stiles, because this would have meant that they are not united and that the Nogitsune could easily put them one against the other.

Maybe mother didn't choose a bad place to imprison the Nogitsune, although it must also be said that it was just pure luck that such a strong group lived here after decades.

From what I understood they also keep facing dangerous situations and if there are zsomethings, I like those are troubles.

I may like this place more than I thought I would.

I soon arrived at home and when I entered, I could see my mother holding my sister hand as they spoke.

"Have you told her?" I asked mother and she just nodded.

After getting that response I looked at my sister, who was also lstaring back at me.

"So you are my sister and not my aunt…" she commented with an awkward voice.

"Stepsister technically. Do you understand now why I always mess with you? You are the Cinderella I have to harass" I joked as I walked toward her and messed with her hairs.

"Did you find out anything?" asked mother suddenly.

"Found what?" asked Kira.

"I went and had a chat with Beacon hills' supernatural beings, excluded for Ito and her pack, which prefer to remain hidden. There was your boyfriend too" I said with a smirk.

"He is not my boyfriend! He told me he was a werewolf, is it right?" she muttered softly by the end.

"Yeah, anyway. We found the Nogitsune" I said.

"Who is it? I'll send the ONI immediately" said mom.

"For now just stop them from further researching for him. He is one of their friends and they want t to try to save him" I told her, causing her to frown.

"Did you tell them that method you found? We don't even know if it works".

"Well, theoretically it should work and if we act immediately, we'll just make them become our enemies. Give them a chance, the best way to fight a Nogitsune is to trust your allies and stay united, we must not give him the chance to put some enmity among us. They are strong and capable, the last thing we want is to have them as enemy" I told her, finally convincing her about waiting.

"I don't think they will be able to deal with him since he is their friends. They will fall for his tricks" she commented.

"There are some intelligent ones among them" I said.

--MC POV--

"Scott said that they found a bag with a map of the forest where the cross country will take place. They think that there may be traps" Said Allison.

"It seems too good to be true. Why would he leave behind some hints for us?"

"He is a killer they all have their quirks" commented Malia.

"I think he has a plan and this plan includes Scott going around trying to solve the various trouble he causes" intervened Lydia.

"They think that the bag could have been left behind by Stiles in an attempt to oppose the Nogitsune" replied Allison.

"I still believe it is too good to be true, last time we just charged ahead against the alpha pack and Laura was kidnapped because of it. Scott already has Erica, Boyd, Isaac and Ethan there with him. Let's just keep searching for some trails the Nogitsune may have left behind, while we keep monitoring how the situations is going on Scott's side" I said and we soon resumed our search.
