Chapter Seven

~

"Get up."

Alistair hit ground, again. Defeat from this man never had him down, it fuelled him up. He finally got a teacher, a teacher who knew what he was doing for once.

He had been looking for a teacher the moment he was allowed to train. So far all the people his dad brought, were ordinary and there was nothing. Until

---

It was another day, Alistair woke up to the sight of a beam of light coming through his window. He stroked his watery and still sleepy eyes with back of his hand, yawning softly.

His hair was messed up from sleeping, it was all over his forehead and nearly covering his eyes. he sat up straight, looking through the window, at the beautiful and sunny morning.

He got up, and without hesitation, he started doing his everyday morning workout routine that contained pushups, sit-ups, squats, weight lifting, and meditation. He liked doing all sorts of psychical training, it made him feel better.

After his pre-morning training. He went to freshen up and went downstairs, where breakfast was already served and ready.

"Morning" he said, immediately grabbing himself a plate to eat.

His mother had been struggling since the incident but after hearing from Arthur she had been a lot stable, "Morning sweetheart" she said, with her hand brushing her belly. It was growing huge, he wonders how big was it when she was carrying him and his brother.

His dad had become a little bit more mature, since the incident, but he was still the silly man who raised him, "Morning little man"

"You were up a bit earlier today?" Alice questioned but it was a clear statement

"Yeah"

"I do hope that you are reared, today you are coming with me" Reynolds said, eating his plate of breakfast.

Alistair stopped eating, his curiosity was peaked, "Where too?" he asked.

"Is a surprise" his father said.

'I don't like surprises' he thought, but reluctantly nodded.

After dinner, they got into a carriage with drove them across the city. They got off at a point since the coachman couldn't go farther without them getting mobbed.

"Come on," his father stay putting on gloves, "Stay close."

" 'kay."

It was one of the weirdest walkes Alistair has had in this life. This was clearly the least safest place in the city, Alistair hadn't thought that was even possible but even this world has a place like this.

Their walk stopped at a dingy small house. There was a faded sign above it, windows were boarded up, the building looked decaying and the boxes and barrels left outside did not convince him.

"Let's go in"

The inside was no better than the outside. Alistair was surprised it was an inn. There was no one in, only cobwebs, even more barrels and boxes, and too much dust.

Reynolds rang the bell several times, but Alistair noticed it was coded and then a boy, a teen came in through the back door.

Alistair analysis him, he has somewhat messy brown hair and relatively pale skin, and his nose is a bit darker than the rest of his face. His eyes are brown, with noticeable bags underneath.

"Hello how may I help you?"

"Please inform room A-1, they have a guest. Mr Lewis"

'Mr Lewis?'

The teen smiled, "Ah! He has already informed us of you. Please follow me"

Then they did. He led them through a different door to the one he come in. They got into an empty room, he went to the wall and touched a certain brick.

"Please don't be alarmed" was the only warning he gave them, then the whole room started moving.

Alistair was surprised and curious on what was happening. He looked at his father, who was barely fazed by what was happening. His been quiet the entire time here, Alistair wonders what must be the problem.

The room stopped moving, the teen opened the door, leading them out of the room. There was a large A on the wall and several rooms.

They started walking again, they made it to room 1. The teen knocked on the door,

"Dear Customer, your guest have arrived." the boys tone was full of amusement, like an underlying joke in the statement.

The door opened, a man with gray hair, built similar to a knight but also a tank.

"Thank you Rem. The two of you can enter"

He lead them inside, the room was a royal luxury room. They sat down Alistair next to his father and opposite of the man in front him.

"So this is the boy? He's a lot younger than I thought"

"True, but he'd be wasting his time sitting at home with his potential"

"He really hasn't awaken, but I can feel a bit of mana from him like all children with awakened parents"

"I can show you if you'd prefer it, but I want to know what stage are you?"

"Sure. Go ahead give me your best."

Alistair took a deep breath and released a small bit of his mana, so his body can withstand the rest of his mana. He kept increasing his mana aura

"That good enough" he said, but Alistair was just beginning.

He released even more mana, he kept his force on breathing and watched how fast he was releasing his mana. He didn't want mana overdose.

Besides him, his father was shocked at the amount of mana he was feeling was incredible. His hand was shaking and he was smirking, he shouldn't, but he was. It was exciting and he couldn't wait to see how much his son is going to grow.

Across the boy, the man, who shocked. When he saw the boy, he didn't think much of him. He looked like a kid who was on an outing with his father, he had a 'nothing to see' look. Now, he was...a...

Beast

No boy had that amount of mana and the level of control was unimaginable.

"I hope this is enough to convince you" the boy said, pulling his mana back to him.

The room fell into a deep silence, only Alistair's slight panting could be heard. Reynolds wanted to burst out and hug his son, and even spar with him. The man on the other hand...

He stood up and moved towards Alistair. He reveal his mana core to the boy, just for a second then closed it.

'A white core, with cracks?" the Leywin boy thought, surprised. 'I've never seen that before, and I don't think anyone here has seen that. Though to be honest, I've never seen a white core or a level above orange. An anomaly among the normal, he seems to be capable enough to train me. I'll take him.'

"Alistair Leywin greets his master...uh?"

"Reign Theone, greets his student Alistair Leywin."

'Theone? I think I've seen that name somewhere?'

---

From that day he was training every with his master. His routine was that immediately after breakfast, his dad would drop him off at the 'inn' but most of the time, his master picked him up.

They would train until noon, he would take a break : sleep, eat and even study. After the break they would do mana training for his body to get used to his mana. Then at sunset he would go home, and spend some time with his family and the Helstea. Most of the time after dinner, he'd mediate to calm down after the day. That has been his routine for these past three months and probably for the next three years, because his master is a traveler and he was originally in the city for a week but he found something that interested him.

Unfortunately he talked to his mother and was now also his equitte teacher.

Reign Theone walked around him, "Your back is not straight enough. 15 minute addition."

Alistair tried to fix his plank stance, but his stomach interrupted him. "Twenty minutes and I get a free lunch." he said looking at his master.

Reign looked at the boy, "You always get a free lunch." he says uninterested.

"Lunch at that fancy place, you went to get the fish course last week."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Focus on your stance." he suggested, fixing the boy's plank stance.

"Come on, I know you want to." he mused at his master.

"No."

"Why not?"

"..."

"Tell me."

"..."

"Come on."

"..."

"Ajusshi?" he said almost pouting, because Alistair Leywin does not pout.

"wh- focus on your stance or I'm increasing your time."

"I can't focus when I'm curious"

"I feed you everyday, I know how much you consume and if we go to that 'fancy' place, you will burn a hole through my pocket. Permanently"

"I feel offended."

"Your stance is offending me"

The next three year are going to interesting to say the least. Him and his grouchy master, are about to embark through a lot together.
