"Alright you're done , and remember this is a temporary identification card"

"If you want a permanent one you have to complete a Mercenary job given to you by the city" the guard handed the identification card to Lucian while reminding him one last time

"Understood , you have my thanks" Lucian took his ID card thanked the guard and left the building

Irvin saw Lucian come outside and walked towards him

"So , how was it ?" he asked

"Nothing special , they just asked for my name , age and origin of birth and send me on my way" Lucian answered

"What did you say for origin of birth ?" Irvin asked curiously

"Ohh you know , an old town called Oldfort"

"Who would have guessed that my Father had a lover in that town and that she gave birth to me outside , laying on a pile of hay" Lucian said while whistling with his hands behind his head

"What ?" Irvin was stunned , His Father had what and where ? and she did what in a pile of hay ? what kind of bullshit was this kid spewing and how did these guys buy it

"They didn't care" Lucian answered Irvin's question , making him think whether he said all that out loud as he covered his mouth

Lucian looked back at Irvin who was covering his mouth and looking around to see if any guards show up

"They didn't care if it was a lie , they just needed a name for my origin of birth so they can send me on my way as their captain had given his approval already"

"The ID's not even permanent" he continued

"I see" Irvin finally relaxed , he really didn't want to get in any trouble with the guards just because he was with this kid when he lied to their face so plainly

But it turned out he was worried for nothing

"I'm actually more curious as to why they didn't ask us for a toll or something you know pay to enter and stuff?" Lucian asked Irving hoping for an answer

"Because this is the outer area , this is where all the guilds build their branches in and where most common folk live"

"If they asked for a toll every time someone entered then they would have problems , do you know how many people enter and leave this outer wall"

"Thousands , so the guards main job is to spot any anomalies happening outside the city whatever they might be and report to the city guard and the other small things such as stopping anyone who isn't identified entry or anyone who is a criminal on the wanted list" Irvin blurred out a couple of quick answers

Lucian listened and understood Irvin's explanation there were flaws with this system but the city didn't care as few were brave enough to use them

And if this was the outer area clearly there must be an inner area that was most definitely more guarded than this but he decided to ask his walking information center just in case

"So there must be an inner area if there is an outer one yes ?"

"Correct" Irvin answered

"But only the aristocratic families live there or those with a very high status are allowed to as well"

"And no , you cannot enter the inner area by paying a toll , you need permission from someone on the inside or be invited"

"I see , I see good to know" Lucian said lightheartedly as they continued to walk through the streets

Lucian was amazed with every corner they took a different scenery greeted him , it seems the streets were more organized than he initially expected but what surprised him the most was that he could not find a single mechanical thing in sight it was as if the concept of machinery didn't exist in this world apart from some very little things here and there , nothing gave him the impression that this worlds focus was on the technological advancement path

And this was exactly what Lucian wanted , a world of Magic and wonder no machinery or guns and nuclear plants to ruin his experience. Just him , magic and an entire new world with a completely different way of living than his previous one for him to explore

"What a beautiful city" he muttered under his breath

After walking around for an hour following Irvin they finally reached the adventures guild branch

"This is it ?" Lucian asked , a little underwhelmed at what was in front of him

It was a 10x10 building with a giant sign at the top of the entrance that said Adventures Guild

"This is just a branch building where people just come to take and complete requests that the locals petitioned" Irvin saw Lucians unimpressed look and laughed as they both entered the building

"Welcome to the Adventures Guild how may I help you?" A female receptionist welcomed them with a smile

Lucian looked at the female receptionist that welcomed them with a smile and had to say the Adventures Guild knew what they were doing when they gave her the job , a young girl in her mid twenties wearing a tight black dress wrapped around her petite body that revealed no more than it needed with long black hair that perfectly suited her pretty face

He was getting a little bit too exited than he would like to admit for just looking at an attractive female after so long , this isn't good he thought

I need to fix this as soon as possible otherwise its going to become a problem

He had this problem as well in his past life in his late teens after having intercourse for the first time , he would get overly exited with every little dirty thought he had or every time he had the simplest of physical contact with a female

But he managed to completely subdue this feeling after he had spend most of his savings going to the red light district with Jake every day , something he was not very proud of but not every man was born a sex magnet

Is it because its a new body that I'm feeling this way Lucian asked himself , but quickly snapped out of it as he heard Irvin talking

"Hello , I'm here to complete the mission I took earlier this day" He said as he placed the hide and the tusks on the counter

"Ahh it's you , welcome back it seems you finished faster than you expected" the receptionist replied as she realized who it was

"Yes , I was fortunate" Irvin answered with a light laugh

"Then please , give me your badge so I can confirm and add your completion of the mission" she politely asked

Irvin passed his badge and waited for the receptionist to finish her task

Lucian watched the whole exchange but particularly paid more attention when the receptionist was confirming Irvin's mission and added a completion mark to his badge

She wrote something on a paper that he assumed was Irvin's completion mark because as soon as she did , she used some sort of magic to make the paper break in to mana particles and enter Irvin's Badge

Which then the badge proceeded to project a small hologram that surprised Lucian very much and showed Irvin's basic information along with the missions he had completed , and at the very bottom words started to appear showing the mission he had just completed and its rank

"Done , congratulations on another successful mission" she congratulated Irvin with a smile while giving back his badge and turned towards Lucian

"Hello , how can I be of service to you" she asked

I have a couple of things in mind you could help me with , Lucian smiled at his childish thoughts but he had no plans of saying such things out loud as he considered it rude but before he could ask her something else his mouth started talking on its own

"Well my lady if you could point me to the nearest brothel I would be much obliged" He said with a smile

"!!!" Lucian froze , his smile was still plastered on his face but his body completely froze , his intrusive thoughts won him over before he even knew what had happened

Shit , now I have to play along otherwise if they realize I didn't mean to say it they'll think I'm a stupid horny teenager that doesn't know how to control his desire and mouth

But if I play along ill just be a horny teenager than knows exactly what he wants , yes play it cool Lucian its how confident you act after you say something crazy that matters , the rest would fix itself

Silence , is what greeted Lucian as his out of the box question completely shocked the both of them , Lucian had no choice but to say something now

"Ahem , please do excuse my question for I did not realize my mistake sooner"

"As this is not something I should be asking a woman about" Lucian tried to make it sound that there was nothing wrong with the question he asked and that it was her fault for making this awkward , and it worked

"N... No please I was just a little surprised that's all" the female receptionist said while trying to clear her mind as she was caught of guard by his question

This man asked her such a bizarre question with complete confidence in his voice as if he was only asking for directions

Which he was ! Its just the place he was asking questions to that shocked her

"These type of questions should never be considered awkward asking a woman about , my apologies for making it so" she said sincerely

"No no , it is I who is at fault how could I ask a woman such a thing" Lucian paid grate emphasis on the word woman when he said that

"Please lets not speak of it again , we are not children the nearest brothel is fifteen minutes west from here its called the Cherry Pop Paradise" the female receptionist quickly tried to end the conversation as she realized the man was only trying to fluster her and put the blame on her for this awkward situation

So her impression of him quickly plummeted
