MY INCOMPARABLE SOULMATE

A WEEK LATER*

The news spread across the oceans. The incident that transpired impacted many, especially the Front Liberation Sect. Where to begin telling? The destruction was hard to explain to everyone. Everyone was saddened by Master Shin's demise. The Sect was in Chaos, everywhere was the same topic being discussed.

The renegade has been slaughtered.

Some said she demolished herself.

Some said she was shoved off the cliff by her lunatic soulmate.

Whatever it was, she was dead for better. If she was alive someone else would have to kill her. In the end, she has to die no matter what. When her disciples were informed of her demise and betrayal, they didn't believe it and went to the conference ground. They found her respective sword there but not her body so, in the end, they were forced to believe that she was dead but they still didn't believe she betrayed them.

All of them thought they would be kicked out of the Sect because Megara was dead plus she was known as a traitor so they were also labeled as a traitor's disciple, they didn't argue back but seeing the little one fight back, burned a fire in them.

They wanted to leave the denomination themselves, if their master was gone then they didn't want to be there either and she wasn't respected anymore in the sect. Not like she was respected before, but at least they didn't gossip so openly and feared her, but now... These people already forgot how much she did for this Sect.

But Chief Zale didn't let them leave and gave them a new master. Her name was Agnes and she was from the extinct Shu Clan. She was their master's friend but in the end, even she didn't take her side. They refused her as their master and intended to leave but Evenor held them back, saying Megara wouldn't like that.

It was true, if their master was there she wouldn't like that. In the end, they accepted Agnes as their master but decided to begin the training after a month since they were mourning for Megara.

Agnes agreed to let them free for a month as she tightly held a shiny chain bracelet in her hands which was deliberately left behind by Megara at the conference ground. Though this chain had nothing to do with Megara's chain technique as she was already a master in it, easily manipulating any metal or steel around her. This chain was a sign of inheritance.

This belonged to Megara's mother and was later passed on to Megara but since Megara had no child she left it behind for her disciples. According to Zale, Megara's main Heir was Helice since she was from the Scarlet Blossom clan but ever since Luna arrived...she watched the little one as well. Since the little one had a strong spiritual core in case she possessed no magic the technique would be passed on to her.

Megara was the same age as the little one when she possessed the bracelet for the first time but...there was one bracelet and two heirs. Agnes decided to wait for the little one to show signs of her magic. If she possessed no magic the technique would be passed to her but if she did possess the magic then the technique would be given to the weaker one but only among her disciples.

Agnes knew she didn't deserve to teach her disciples but it was something she left behind and they are not to blame for her betrayal. They were innocent and needed someone to guide them. Sitting under the shade of the veranda, she stared up at the cloudy sky. The sect was covered with heavy snow.

Rubbing her hands together, she continued to stare up at the sky. Her heart was swelled up by so many indescribable sorrows. She lost her Clan, her soulmate, and her friend. Whatever Megara did was unforgivable but they did share a beautiful bond before. Those sweet memories, her sweet and old Megara, tears her heart apart.

Her end was beyond words.

They couldn't even find her body.

They weren't allowed to make her grave in the cemetery of warriors let alone the cemetery for commoners. So her disciples themselves made a stone burial of their master on the cliff from where she jumped off.

Her respective sword stood beside her grave as the snow covered the cliff as well as half of her burial. Her disciples stood before her grave, they were wearing cloaks and thick robes but still felt cold, cold within. Their cheeks hurt with every gust of wind, it itches more when tears caressed them. A spiritual butterfly cast by Syloson roamed around the burial, in case anyone tries to steal her sword, her disciples will be informed immediately

It's been a week, they can't get over her demise.

Such an unfortunate end, even a foe doesn't have.

She did so much for the Sect and that selfish sect didn't even give her a place to rest. They strongly wanted to leave but Evenor held them back. That man has become stoic. He doesn't smile, or talk. He couldn't focus on his teaching.

His heart has been shattered by her betrayal and his soul has been shattered by her demise. Each one in their pain...in their agony.

And then...there is this man.

Evandros chugged the last gulp of his wine while staring up at the exquisite sky. He sat on the rooftop of his manor which was coated in thick and heavy snow. With a blank gaze, he looked down at the empty bottle of his wine. Turning it upside down, a few drops of wine fall on his bottom lip. He licked it and threw his head back, his long black hair carelessly sprawled on the soft and white snow.

He stared at the sky for a while before raising his hand toward it, he made his hand into a tight fist before pulling it down. When the rain stopped that day, he went with his men to look out for her body but they didn't find her. Not even a single hint of her, she vanished as if she never existed. He gulped a painful lump. He still had unfinished work. He must kill his wicked father then only will he be able to join her as well.

Maybe then...they can start over.

No...he was a man full of sins...will he still be able to meet her. He knew he shouldn't be feeling these emotions but he felt truly helpless.

The rim of his eyes became wet when he realized, his life was no good on these grounds and it will be no good either when he goes up there.

Maybe, killing his father can be considered a good deed before he kills himself.

He chuckled sadly, his gaze sharpened when he felt a presence behind him. "What?" He asked sternly. The guard bowed at him before answering. "My lord, Adonis is here, he is here with your father." The man said and Evandros gestured for him to leave as he was coming. The guard immediately left on his gesture. He kept lying there for a while. Not wanting to meet those people, he wanted to stay alone.

He was scared that he might end up killing his father and messing up everything. That old man is the key to truth and he must find a way to make him speak the truth. He got up and went to his meeting room.

There he saw Adonis and Ezekiel standing side to side, talking about something related to a certain town. "What brings you here?" Evan asked as soon as he entered, his robe was coated in thin snow. Before sitting on his throne he dusted off his robe.

"Shouldn't you be already aware? We still don't know where the black stone is. We might possess all the six stones but it's futile even if one is missing." Ezekiel rasped.

"Then find it, discovering the stone is not my duty, it's yours," Evandros said rather lazily. Ezekiel took a deep breath and narrowed his gaze at his son. "I've come to hear about something. You have wrapped a cloth around your soulmate's mark. Perhaps, you are frightened to see that the mark has vanished." Ezekiel let out and Evandros grunted. "Listen, old man, I'm the chief of this clan now. If you don't want your people to perish then make them mind their work." Evandros gritted at his father.

Adonis stood still, the atmosphere was colder than he anticipated.

"My my, what is this? Such a grumpy mood. I'll assume that it's a soulmate thing. Even though I didn't love your mother, when she died I was also like this." Ezekiel said, unfazed.

"I'm not like you." Evandros rasped, his jaw twitching in outrage.

"Yes, you're worse than me." Ezekiel declared and Evandros went quiet. He is right. Leaning back against the throne, his gaze darted to Adonis. "What are you doing here?" He raised a question and Adonis shrugged. "I just wanted to talk about something," Adonis said and Evandros went silent, turning his gaze back to his father.

"You find the black stone, I'll seize it," Evandros said and Ezekiel took a deep breath before bobbing his head. "And what do you plan on doing with the Front Liberation Sect?" Evandros raised a weird query.

"It's apparent I can't let it go. After the incident, the Sect is heavily impacted but it remains strong. In the end, this sect will be one of my defense mechanisms." Ezekiel said and took off his mask.

Adonis looked at him shocked.

"I gotta say, you're such a master in black magic. You did the same with that girl who acted as fake Megara with me. You're truly something else, former chief Linya or should I say, Chief Zale. Your acting was tremendous at the conference." Adonis said and Ezekiel smirked.

"Refer to me as Chief Zale," Ezekiel said and looked at his son. "That Shin...I'm certain he has his doubts about me. We attacked Zale that night with our army and took him under our custody. We broke his spiritual core but he also heavily injured me, and I'm still bleeding. That Shin, it's better he is dead, if he would have known about my reality. He has been with Zale since childhood, and he knew him very well. Sometimes, I felt exposed in front of his gaze." Ezekiel let out.

"He still had his doubts about you by the very end as well. His real friend Zale wouldn't have let his dear friend Shin die or let his dear Blossom commit suicide. He would have protected them as well as the sect with his enormous and great magic. Shin knew you weren't his friend Zale. Zale was strong enough to not go behind any stone in the first place." Evandros mused.

"You seem very biased towards Zale rather than your father," Ezekiel said, sounding like a venomous serpent.

"Zale is a powerful man, who attacks from the front. He fought against so many and still managed to give you a bleeding chest forever. While it took so many of your men to handle him and they still couldn't. I have to interrupt." Evandros said and Ezekiel shook his head.

"You still have him in your custody? Do you plan to kill him or keep him alive?" Ezekiel asked and Evandros rubbed his chin. "I will keep him alive, he shouldn't be your concern. He is kept in my forests. He almost destroyed my dungeons even though his spiritual core was destroyed." Evandros said, sounding extremely inspired by him. Only if he wasn't a bad man, he would have been like Zale.

But it's too late to follow his steps now.

"Whatever, I'll keep on searching for the stone," Ezekiel said, sounding irritated. He turned around, passed Adonis a look, and left the room. Adonis turned his gaze to Evandros who was looking at him intently.

Adonis sighed and shook his head.

"We still didn't find her body. I used my magic, all kinds of techniques but she is nowhere." Adonis said, his eyes turning sad upon seeing Evandro's expressions.

"You...this is not how you feel after revenge. I thought you were sure what she did to you back then, your hatred was intense. This time although she did nothing, anyone looking at the situation will point at her. You should have at least dig into the matter more. Now, there is no use of even regretting." Adonis said and took out a ring from his pouch, forwarding it to him.

"I did find this ring near the edge, I don't know if it belongs to her."

Evandros grabbed the ring, examining it. His eyes slightly widened when he realized this was the same ring she always wore on her thumb. "It's her ring. Does it mean?" Evandros looked up at Adonis.

"I don't know. Why don't you just check your soulmate's mark?" Adonis asked and he shook his head. Gripping the ring tightly in his palm, he leaned back. "Keep searching for her body. There is something else I want you to do as well."

"What?" Adonis asked.

"History, investigate the history. I did investigate the events but I feel like I missed out on something while being blinded by the fire of revenge." Evandros said and Adonis nodded before walking out of the room.

Evandros' gaze sharpened as he stared at the door. "You will either hide it or expose it." He muttered under his whiff and leaned back on the throne, bringing the ring in front of his face.

'Evan....you're not a monster.'

'You are great.'

'Sometimes you are very clingy.'

'You can do it.'

'You're better than all of them... they're jealous of your magic.'

'Defeat me one day.'

'Can you not call me that?'

'Aghh, stay away.'

'Evan, your cooking skills are amazing.'

'Evan,... I love you too.'

'I wanted to protect you but I failed.'

'I'm sorry, Evan. I'm to blame.'

"I will end that bastard who destroyed us and I'll end myself for destroying you," Evandros said, a few drops of tears rolling down his cheeks as he kissed the ring.

'In this world...this was our end.'

'Maybe in the next one...we will reunite again.'

'Then...you will be my crown and I will be your sword.'

'Together we will be undefeatable.'

'If God is merciful enough, he will reunite us again.'

'I will wait for you forever and ever, my incomparable soulmate.'
