Chapter 1
I fell flat on my luxurious flowery bed and my head sank into one of the four fluffy pillows, the thoughts of my father words flashed back into my mind "was he really just going to marry me off to a stranger, if only mom were alive none of these will be happening" I muttered out to my self alone in my room, it seemed that the tears I had been holding back in dad's chambers was about to burst out, he told me to my face without any emotions that i was getting married soon and I should get ready for the royal ball tonight.
"Princess Jasmine, Princess Jasmine" Annette called out to me after some minutes of standing in my room and helplessly watching me lost in my own thoughts, it turned out that she had came into my room to call me for lunch and i didn't even notice .
"Let me guess thinking of what your father said right" she said absolutely knowing of what I would be thinking at that moment, I nodded in approval without looking at her then I felt the other side of my bed sink, she was now sitting next to me on my bed.
Annette took my chin in her hands so that i was now facing her"princess Jasmine I want you to know that whatever your father is doing for you now is not out of hatred but of fear that you might be in danger and need a caring man to take care of you",I knew she was saying these words to make me feel better, though a maid Annette had always been like a mother to me since I lost my own mother at eight making me feel happy during all those years of loneliness.

It was on a dark stormy night when the moor stalkers came to attack our kingdom, Draco empire being a successful and threatening empire incurred alot of hatred from neighbouring kingdoms and the moor stalkers was one of them, Mom was telling me bedtime stories and putting me to sleep as usual when suddenly a guard barged in, this was very surprising because guards weren't allowed to enter the palace, then I knew something was wrong.
Mother immediately took me to the highest floor in the palace like she knew what was going to happen and hid me there and when she was about to close the big iron bars which served as the doors I held onto her hands,tears trickling down my hazel eyes to my cute cheeks,I tried to mumble out the words, those words that won't sieze from my my mouth till now "mom please tell me, you will come back right", Mom also couldn't help but held me back in tears, when she released me from her grip she wore me an emerald necklace which she kept as a treasure for years, why did she give me? was it to remember her when she left me, mom cleaned my eyes and told me"no matter what be a good girl and always listen to your father, keep this necklace with your heart and never take it off your chest " before I could say any other thing mom let go of me and banged the two mighty iron bars and sealed it with a lock" I stood there crying to the necklace as though it will bring mom back I became weak of crying and black out I fainted.
