Lily raised her voice in surprise, that was weird and very uncomfortable because we were just meeting for the first time.

Jack passed his hand through his hair.

Lily's eyes followed the moment but she caught herself in time.

"It is not what you think; relax and hear me out okay? I need a girlfriend at least a pretend girlfriend," he said looking at her straight in the eyes, Lily felt her heart skip for a second.

she raised her eyebrow at that giving him a you-can't-be-serious look, "A guy like you can't get a girlfriend? You must be joking."

Jack narrowed his eyes at her and sighed, "I need to have a girlfriend for a while; I know you are surprised that a guy like me is looking for a girlfriend but I am in a fix," sighing in exasperation, "I am sure the wheels in your head are turning, what of my girlfriend? I don't have a girlfriend and I don't need a girlfriend; I like my life with no attachment, no woman breathing on my neck. But I need a pretend girlfriend who doesn't feel anything for me so that I can pay her after her service."

"You need a sex worker to sleep with?" She asked in alarm and disgust.

He raised his hands and massaged his temple, this getting more embarrassing, "I don't need a sex toy; if I needed one, I can have them in thousands. I have a deal I am working on but one of the conditions is to be in a serious relationship, that is why I need a pretend girlfriend, she will attend public functions with me and after her service I will pay her."

"But are you not being fake? What if they find out?" Lily visibly calmed down after understanding Jack's statement.

"No one will find out, if we both play our part; people are easily fooled by what they see, it is for me to worry not you."

"So what you mean is I should pretend to be your girlfriend you pay me and I leave with the money?"

Lily asked, wanting to be clear on the matter.

"Yes," he deadpanned, giving her an are- you stupid look. He had explained to her in detail, what the hell does she not understand? He said in his mind.

Lily noticed the look on his face, "I just wanted to be clear, I have three questions that want to ask."

Jack urged her to ask, motioning with his fingers.

1. How long do I have to pretend?

2. How much are you paying?

3. Is PDA involved? Lily asked to clarify the situation.

Jack replied, "I can't give a specific time but I should be taking about a month, I will pay you eleven thousand dollars for the service rendered, and in case PDA is involved in any situation, I will tell you ahead."

Lily frowned, she wondered why someone like Jack would spend money to get a fake girlfriend when he could get the woman of his dreams without a hitch, "Why the hell will you throw money like that? Just ask any of your female friends to help you out."

Jack rolled his eyes, "I have slept with all my female friends at some point and the ones I haven't slept with are either engaged or married," he deadpanned.

She looked at him with disgust in her eyes, this guy was worse than she imagined, "Wow!"

Jack smiled inwardly; knowing fully well she was disgusted by him, "So are you interested or not? I need to know now."

"I will give you my answer tomorrow or the next," she looked at her fingernails as if seeing them for the first time, maybe never, she added in her mind.

He narrowed his eyes at her, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "Suit yourself."

"Don't give me a look, I have to think it through; besides I have a job that I work on, I have to check my schedule and know if I can do it or not," she said.

"Fine! Let me have your number so I can call you," He handed her his phone and she inserted her number, she gave him back his phone.

"I will call you," he said charmingly, flashing her his signature golden smile.

She rolled her eyes and told him she was ready to leave.

They stood up, Jack escorted her to her car and they called it a night.
