Count's Invitation

Soon the day passed and night arrives, Fenrir had informed Dolan about the dinner invitation from the Count and sought his insights on the matter. Dolan explained, "The Count is trying to befriend you, Fenrir, as you will become a true knight in the future."

"What do you mean by a true knight?" Fenrir inquired.

"It would be better if Sir Hanekin were to tell you about this, but understand that you will become one of the important figures in Deepfalls County," Dolan replied.

Fenrir then asked to Dolan to come with him in Count house which, Dolan accept. Both Fenrir and Dolan reaches count estate. The count estate was huge with massive gate and vastly large area.

Two guards stationed at the gate intercepted them, asking, "What do you want?"

Fenrir presented the invitation and Dolan explained, "Count Landgrave has invited us for dinner. Here's the invitation letter."

The guards examined the Count's emblem and requested their names for verification. Once confirmed, they were granted entry into the estate.

Inside the Count's residence, they feel awed, the count house is luxurious. After a few moments, Count Landgrave himself appeared, extending a warm welcome to Fenrir and Dolan. They were guided towards the dining area, where an variety of dishes unfamiliar to Fenrir was presented. The Count introduced them to his wife.

Count Landgrave had two sons and a daughter. His sons frequently assisted him in governing their territory, while his daughter was married and lived elsewhere. In the vast estate, only the Count and his wife resided.

Following the lavish dinner, the Count requested a private meeting with Fenrir in his study. Fenrir agreed and accompanied him there.

The study was filled with books of various kinds. The Count settled into a chair and gestured for Fenrir to take another.

"Fenrir, allow me to first congratulate you on passing the intent test," the Count began. "Not many individuals succeed each year. Sometimes, only one from each city makes it through."

Fenrir was taken aback by this revelation. The Count continued, "Fenrir, the Deepfalls territory is changing. Monster attacks are becoming more frequent. You may recall the cursed snow bear attack on your village a year ago. While such attacks haven't posed a significant threat yet, the increasing number of these creatures suggests that times are changing. If Deepfalls City faces any future problems, I want you to be one of the pillars supporting our home."

Fenrir listened attentively and, after a moment of contemplation, responded with determination, "Frostwich is my village, and if anyone poses a danger to it, I will stand here to defend it."

A smile played on the Count's lips. "That's precisely what I expected you to say, Fenrir."

"But why you think we have to face something big in future" Fenrir asked

"Fenrir you must have heard about chenoo" count asked

"yes, I did heard about them."

"It is said that chenoo dark energy corrupt other animal and make them cursed, if it is right then chenoo might be still alive. But don't worry its just a theory. But its better to be prepared."

"It's getting late. You should spend the night in our home," the Count suggested.

Fenrir attempted to politely decline the offer, but the Count insisted, and Fenrir ultimately accepted the gracious invitation.

Late at night, as Fenrir lay in his bed, an unsettling feeling washed over him. He sensed danger drawing near. Startled awake, he spotted a shadowy figure dressed in black, clutching a dagger. The intruder appeared taken aback, as his approach should have gone unnoticed. Fenrir's heightened intuition, possibly linked to the wolf system, had alerted him to the danger. As the figure inched closer, raising the dagger with malicious intent, Fenrir prepared himself for a dangerous encounter.
