Chapter 19

Asura has started sucking in the demon spirit and it starts to resist by moving farther from Asura.

But, it was of no use. Asura managed to suck in the demon spirit and swallow it.

Then Asura had a pained expression on its face. Nie Li said "Asura, your ability to absorb what you eat is not almighty. Your body is not able to absorb the demon spirit. Sput it out now or else, you may die."

"If I spit out this guy, he will absorb me and I would still end up dying. It's the same in either case. Nie stop talking and help me here." Asura said.

Then Nie Li uses the energy from his soul and sends it to Asura to strengthen him. This barely managed to do anything.

Then something weird happened. A purple vein came from behind and wrapped around Asura.

Nie Li looked to see where it came from. It was a vein from the mutated plant in his soul realm, which turned purple after absorbing a little of that black liquid during the body reformation.

"Just when we were struggling to survive the demon spirit, another thing attacks us. Are we this unlucky?" Nie Li said.

But Asura didn't share the same thoughts. Ne noticed the change in his body and said to Nie Li "This thing is actually helping me absorb the demon spirit."

"Then, we aren't unlucky after all." Nie Li said.

Then Asura completely absorbed the demon spirit and his appearance slowly started changing.

Asura had red skin with six arms. Those arms slowly started merging and he only had two now.

He also grew a pair of horns on his head and his skin color turned from red to golden yellow. Another change in him would be the tail behind him.

It was similar to that of a dragon. The golden yellow color was actually due to his scales on his body.

Asura looks at the body and said "I have changed a lot. And you were not kidding when you said this guy was enough to make you strong. He has abilities even I can't fully understand. I have to train and learn later."

"Asura, why are you still attached to that vein?" Nie Li asks.

"I think this vein has made me a demon spirit too." Asura replied.

"Then you can't move from here?" Nie Li asked.

"I can but I don't want to. This plant is making me stronger. And I also wanted to do this for quite a while." Asura replied.

"What did you want to do?" Nie Li asked.

"Ever since I came into existence, I have always stayed inside your sea of consciousness. it was boring for me to do nothing but just see you do things or fight people. I wanted to fight too. Like this, I can at least experience being in the outside world." Asura said and Nie Li was amazed to know that the silent Asura could actually talk this much.

"Then you spend your time learning your new abilities while I cultivate and become stronger." Nie Li said and left the soul realm.

Nie Li had to rest. His soul force was drained completely for the first time since he reformed his body.

He laid down when he heard his mother from outside the room. She whispered "Nie Li, are you still cultivating?"

This was something only a few people do. Usually while cultivating, when anyone disturbs them, they loose concentration and might end up in a situation where they can't cultivate again.

She whispered in a low voice which, only an awake practitioner can hear with their heightened senses.

Nie Li answered "No mom, do you need something?"

His mom Xiao Yun said "Nie Li, come out, you jabe to get ready for the engagement."

"Isn't that after three days?" Nie Li asked.

"You have been cultivating for three days straight. Now come out and get ready. We want you to look good in front of everyone." Xiao Yun said.

Nie Li somehow got up and opened the door. His mom didn't even wait for Nie Li to talk. She caught his hand and took him to a room where his father and the other elders were there.

They helped him get ready. Nie Li was the one who asked their help as he didn't know everything about marriage in this world.

Nie Li's memories weren't that helpful as he didn't marry anyone.

Nie Li headed to a Hall they prepared. It was a Hall Nie Li asked his clones to build just for the engagement. He planned to throw a party there.

In the town, almost all the citizens came to see Nie Li and his wives.

All the single men were in tears. Nie Li heard some people shouting "How can you marry 5 goddess of our city? This is not right."

He also heard some girls scream "If you want, I can be your wife too."

Nie Li's party was a grand one. All the important people of the city were present to wish Nie Li.

The party was over and all the guests left. He went to see off his wives. Ning'er and Ziyun still couldn't believe they were engaged to Nie Li with all their family problems.

Yang Xin and Lanruo were very happy that Nie Li married them when everyone believed that they were old to get married now.

Nie Li noticed Shen Xiu's behavior the whole party and asked "Shen Xiu, what's wrong? I haven't seen you smile even once today."

Shen Xiu forced a smile and said "Nothing, I am still in shock that we are engaged now. I didn't think I would get to marry in my life."

They all spoke for a while and left. Nie Li still believed that Shen Xiu was hiding something. He still didn't want to trouble her so, he decided to ask her the next time they meet.
