Chapter 2 : Keiran and Luna

Anyone who knew her would be shocked if they had seen her at that moment. Unlike her usual calm and soothing demeanor, she now had a crazed expression on her face as she stared at her belly with obsession and coldness.

What she didn't realize was that the babies, though yet to be born, had heard her words. Whether they understood them or not was a different story.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, night fell, enveloping the surroundings in darkness.

The only source of light in the sky was a faint, hazy moon, though it remained partially obscured by the pervasive gray haze that cloaked the planet.

On this particular night, the moon in the sky above the kingdom appeared quite different from the usual celestial sights. It was a rare half-moon, although a half moon is not that rare but this one was because the moon was huge in size.

What made this sight even more remarkable was the moon's unusually bright and radiant glow, as if it were celebrating the birth of something significant.

The moon's brilliance painted a silvery sheen across the kingdom's landscape, casting soft and enchanting shadows.

It was a sight of natural beauty and wonder, a celestial display that seemed to hold a hidden meaning, though sadly, no one in the kingdom was able to witness this breathtaking spectacle.

The moon's radiant celebration remained unseen by all, a secret shared only with the silent night.

In the castle, a commotion was unfolding at the moment. Servants hurriedly moved about as King Arion approached. One of them halted in front of him and bowed.

"What's the status?" Arion inquired in an authoritative tone; his gaze fixed on the servant with a neutral expression.

"Your Majesty, Queen Erla entered labor suddenly, and the babies are refusing to come out. We were trying to locate Doctor Dan," the servant explained nervously.

Arion's eyes narrowed, a growing chill in his gaze that sent an involuntary shudder through the servant. Despite this, the servant kept his head down, awaiting further instructions.

"Look for Doctor Dan immediately," Arion ordered firmly. "Tell him to perform an ultrasound and prepare for surgery. We need to operate."

The servant quickly bowed and rushed off to locate the doctor. Meanwhile, Arion made his way to Erla's quarters, where a cluster of doctors and guards had gathered. From inside the room, the sounds of screams could be heard. Arion entered the room under their watchful gaze.

He stood beside the bed, his eyes cold and unyielding, silently observing Erla without uttering a word. Moments later, a doctor entered the room in haste and bowed before the king.

"Your Majesty," the doctor said, "I'll prepare for the ultrasound."

Arion nodded in silence as the medical team prepared for the ultrasound.

"Your Majesty," one of the doctors spoke up, "it seems the children are holding each other's hands. We may indeed need to proceed with the surgery, or it could harm their bodies."

Without a moment's hesitation, Arion responded, "Do it." He continued to watch with unwavering determination as they began the operation on the queen.

Queen Erla lay on the surgical table, her eyes closed, and her face covered with a surgical mask to maintain a sterile environment.

The medical team worked diligently, their gloved hands moving with practiced expertise.

Under the tense atmosphere, the surgery started...

In the sterile and well-equipped medical chamber of the royal castle, the surgical procedure to deliver the twins was performed with the utmost precision.

The room was bathed in a soft, sterile light, and the air was filled with the hum of medical machinery.

The machines were also made adaptable to Ether as normal machines have less accuracy compared to the improved one's.

Queen Erla lay on the surgical table, her eyes closed, and her face covered with a surgical mask to maintain a sterile environment.

The medical team worked diligently, their gloved hands moving with practiced expertise.

With a careful incision, the surgeon delivered the first baby, a boy, into the world.

The baby was gently placed in the waiting arms of a nurse, who quickly checked his vital signs. However, there was no immediate cry from the newborn.

The medical team remained composed, continuing their work. Moments later, the second baby, a girl, was delivered. Like her brother, she did not cry immediately upon birth.

The room was filled with an air of tension as the medical team worked to ensure the well-being of the newborns.

The babies' vital signs were stable, and they appeared healthy, but their lack of crying was a cause for concern.

As the medical team continued their assessments, the newborns' eyes blinked open, revealing alert and curious gazes.

Despite their silence, there was an undeniable sense of life and potential in those tiny, searching eyes.

The medical team knew they would need to monitor the twins closely and determine the cause of their unusual behavior, but for now, all attention was focused on ensuring their health and safety.

The twins gazed at each other with curious eyes, their infantile faces displaying wonder and innocence.

A soft sound escaped the boy's mouth, a sound filled with the purity of a newborn.

Hearing her brother, the girl's eyes sparkled with recognition, and she, too, made a sound, their first form of communication in this new world.

The king's gaze fell upon his newborns. The older one was a black-haired boy with white eyes, a striking contrast to his hair.

The younger one was a girl with white hair and black eyes. Their appearances were so alike that if they were of the same gender, they would look like perfect copies of each other.

As the siblings lay together, their interactions brought a sense of relief to the medical staff. They could hear their voices, a sign that the newborns were healthy and responsive.

King Arion raised his eyebrows at their interaction as he felt a strange sensation in his heart, which he chose to ignore.

He turned to look at Queen Erla, who had regained consciousness.

She gazed at the twins with a complex expression, and then she felt a gaze upon her.

She turned to meet King Arion's cold, piercing eyes.

She knew that her plans had been exposed, but the safe birth of her children made her think that she wouldn't face harsh punishment.

The king was about to speak, but a servant came running into the room, clearly out of breath and caught his attention.

"Your Majesty, Queen Seraphina is ready for delivery."

King Arion paused for a moment, moving his gaze from Queen Erla to the servant as he addressed her.

"We will talk tomorrow. Be ready for the consequences."

The king began to walk towards the exit but was stopped by Doctor Dan.

."Your Majesty, what about their names?" inquired Doctor Dan.

The king gazed at the twins, peacefully sleeping while holding hands. His attention shifted to their unique hair colors.

"Keiran, for the boy, and Luna for the girl," he decided.

The Queen nodded in agreement, accepting the names.

The servants and staff nodded in understanding as the King continued on his way out of the room.

Queen Erla turned to Doctor Dan and asked, "How are they? Do they have any problems?"

Doctor Dan found her questions unusual but still provided an answer.

"No, Your Highness, they are perfectly healthy and even energetic. I must say, the way they interact with the surroundings and each other, they seem like geniuses to me," Doctor Dan replied.

The Queen sighed, and a peculiar gleam passed through her eyes upon hearing his last sentence.

"Well, we will know whether they are geniuses or not when they are ten years old," Queen Erla remarked.

The doctors nodded in agreement, understanding that in this world, having a sharp mind alone wouldn't take you far; possessing the power to protect oneself was equally crucial for survival.

In a room that resembled a private hospital ward but on a much larger scale, a group of doctors surrounded a woman who was lying on the bed.

She frowned and said, "Why are there so many of you idiots? Can't just a few of you do the job?"

The doctors chuckled at her words, knowing her cranky mood was likely due to her pregnancy.

"Your Highness, we are just here to assist if needed," one of the doctors replied.

Queen Seraphina didn't respond to the doctors. Instead, she turned her attention to the door as King Arion entered the room.

"You are late, what happened?" she asked, her tone holding a hint of irritation.

The king paused for a moment, raising an eyebrow at her sudden outburst. Doctors quickly explained the situation, trying to reassure Queen Seraphina.

"Your Majesty," he said, "she's experiencing some cramps, which can make her mood a bit sour. But you needn't worry. After the birth, she'll likely be back to normal."

Arion nodded in understanding and turned his attention back to Seraphina to deliver the news.

"Erla had an early delivery," he explained. "They had to perform an operation to keep the twins safe."

Seraphina's eyebrows furrowed as she seemed lost in thought, processing this information. She knew that her due time was yeat either her water broke early or....

" Did she—?"

Seraphina's frustration was palpable as she tried to make sense of the situation.

She let out a yell as she felt a sudden pain,

"Ahh... What's happening?"

The Doctor, understanding her concern, reassured her, "Your Highness, there's no need to worry. We're here to ensure a safe delivery. The cramps are a common part of the process. Soon, you'll be meeting your children."

Seraphina grumbled a response but seemed to accept the explanation, albeit with impatience.

" You are ready to deliver, we should start the process."

The doctors rushed as they started the procedure, and soon her yells died down as the cry of the baby was heard.

Arion turned his attention to the red-haired baby boy who was crying.

"Aiden, that will be the name of the boy."

He spoke as the rest nodded, and soon Seraphina took the boy in her arms as she smiled a little.

"Are you announcing their births tomorrow?"

King Arion turned his attention towards Seraphina, who asked the question, as he understood that letting the world know about their arrival would also make them targets for some people.

" Yes, we have to because things didn't go as planned."

Queen Seraphina also nodded, understanding that Erla's selfishness had caused complications.

" Rest now, I'll be handling the paperwork."

After speaking, King Arion left the room and went towards his study.

In a room filled with luxurious furniture and decorations, a woman stood, gazing at her two newborns as her eyes met theirs.

"You are the only pawns I have left to use,"

she whispered softly to the infants, her voice a mixture of tenderness and determination.

"I will definitely face some punishment tomorrow, but it will be worth it. I was able to give birth before that bitch. I heard she also had a son."

As she looked down at her children, she couldn't help but feel a strange sense of power and opportunity in their arrival, even amid the challenges and complications that had arisen.

Queen Erla's face contorted with a cold and calculating expression as she contemplated the possibility of her son being born after Queen Seraphina's child.

"You both will help me gain power," she muttered to her newborn twins, her voice laced with a chilling determination. "All you have to do is have a good talent, or I won't mind throwing you towards those hungry pigs in the arena. Why am I even talking with you? It's not like you two will understand or remember what I'm even saying."

Her words hung heavy in the air as she looked at her children, her mind consumed by thoughts of ambition and the lengths she would go to ensure her own rise to power.

She turned and climbed into her bed as she began to sleep.

The twins looked at the spot where she had stood with expressionless eyes.

They then turned to each other, closed the distance between them, and drifted off to sleep while holding each other's hands.
