The Eyebrows Of Tiger

Hjejin watched Lee Rang's car go away for a long time and thought "why did I even trust him, of course he know nothing about the cases but if he don't know about them how he know that there are missing cases in the first place." Nothing made sense not Lee Rang neither the cases.

She went inside the police station, her headache was gone now. When she went inside everyone was dead silent, even the senior was not giving her nasty comment for being late.

"What is happening?" She thought to herself.

"Yah! Where were you all this time?" A familiar voice filled the entire station, Hjejin knew exactly who it was and looked at Jong-Suk with deadly stare.

"Don't look there, look at me!" That same person demanded again. Hjejin closed and turn in a hope that when she would open her eyes this nightmare would be over but life was never that easy for her.

She opened her eyes and looked at her mother who was filled with jewelry "what?"

"Why were with him and why this close to him?" Her mother showed her a photo of her and Lee Rang  when they were arguing, which was most definitely clicked outside the station, Hjejin again gave Jong-Suk a deadly glare.

"Don't look at him, he didn't send me anything" Her mother remarked but Hjejin was not an idiot, she grabbed her mother phone and find who send her that picture and as expected it was Jong-Suk. Hjejin looked at her mother in disbelief and her mother grabbed her phone out of Hjejin's hand.

Hjejin looked at everyone in the station, all were enjoying the show which she didn't want to happen.

"Let's take it outside, follow me." Hjejin said, without giving her mother a chance to response Hjejin rapidly ran outside.

She looked at her mother direction so she could start nagging again and to her dismay her mother was still halfway out of the police station as she walked as elegantly as possible. Hjejin closed her eyes in frustration and once her mother was out of everyone's eyes she become what she really was.

"Who is that man and what relationship you have with him?" Her mother gave her a deadly glare but kept her voice as low as possible.

Hjejin scoffed. "Don't pretend you didn't run background check on him already."

Her mother nodded in agreement. "As you know me so well, let's come to the point. You'll have no relationship with him moreover you will cut ties with him."

"Why?" Hjejin asked being half confused though she had no relation with Lee Rang but he was wealthy and that what her mother wanted in a son-in-law.

"Because he is an illegitimate son, he and  Ki-Yoo-Ri are siblings, not blood related of course but whatever it is. You won't indulge with an illegitimate child. I'm your mother and I know what's best for you and you'll get married to who I'll choose for you."

"What! Mother!" Hjejin laughed. "From when you started thinking about me, let me guess when I was starving and you were having affairs with other people's husbands.

"I did all of that for us-" Hjejin interrupted her mother "don't include me in this, you did it for yourself. You wanted pretty and luxurious thing I never wanted them furthermore I will never marry a man of your choice, if that happens either I'll kill myself or I'll kill him which will lead to my execution for first degree murder."

Hjejin continued. "Maybe you won't even care if I die because you would had already bid me for some profit of your husband's damn company." Before she could finish her mother slapped her hard. "He is your father!"

Hjejin blankly said. "No, he is your husband. My father is dead. Now you have already told me what your motive was for this visit, so you can leave now."

Again without giving her mother chance to say anything, she walked away opposite to the police station, her mother started shouting her to comeback but she unheard her and kept running.

Lee Rang on the other hand was in a rush, he has found out where 'The Eyebrows of Tiger' was. They have something magical in them it could show people their past life and if not used with caution it could be a deadly weapon and that was what Lee Rang wanted it to be.

From the very first look he recognized what it was when the fortune-teller took out those glasses out of his mysterious bag. He offered the man tons of money but got nothing in return.

"What's happening, no one is getting impressed with money today?" Rang thought to himself. "First that woman and now this weirdo."

"So what you want in return instead of money?" Rang asked.

"The most important and precious thing you have in your life, give to me and take this" The fortune-teller explained.

First thing that came to his mind was his brother, Yeon and then that woman, images of her in his car how her skin looked under the bright sunlight, how she closed her eyes to feel the wind and warmth of sun. He shocked himself with his imagination and he shrugged it off.

He called his brother for like a hundred times and at last he picked up, he quickly told him to come there as Yeon and his woman was already there was no way they would get lost.

He knew his brother meant a great deal to him but still he didn't if that was true or not so instead he pretended he didn't. When Ji-Ah came first, he felt a ping of jealousy inside him, she was the reason Yeon left the mountains, because of her he abandoned him, because of her this is what it is.

When Yeon came inside, the fortune-teller started checking and as expected his big brother was the most important thing to him, Lee Rang acted displeased but truth was he wanted to tell Yeon what he really meant to him but his pride would let him.

He took the glasses and left.

Instead of crying and going back to the station, Hjejin called Haneul to tell her she would do patrolling today.

After her shift was over, she started going home, as she walked she bumped into a child.

"Omo I'm so sorry. Are you okay, did you get hurt? Hjejin said as she rushed to check the child.

The child didn't respond and kept staring at her which made Hjejin more frightened. She was about to ask for help when the child said. " Nona (big sister) I like you."

From lookin frightened to shock Hjejin smiled and said "We just met, how can you like me?"

"I don't know, I just like you." He smiled widely.

"Don't roam around here at this time, go home before dark." Hjejin said and patted his head and left.

The kid stood there smiling.
