Jaegar stepped out the door, feeling the morning breeze on his face as he took a deep breath.

Pierre and Jennifer had been still asleep in their room, and Jaegar thought of stepping out, to visit a barbershop. Yesterday, Pierre made a joke about his beard, and remembering the night's talk, Jaegar's face turned sombre.

He knew that Pierre had a good heart and soul, but he had to look past the incident and forgive him. He never expected it, but he will also cherish it just like he did. If it were him, he would outright smash his skull, Jaegar knew that about himself. He couldn't look past the betrayal of something like that.

Jaegar adjusted the collar of his worn frock coat, a garment that had seen better days during his extended absence from society.
