Ethan took a deep breath and saw the elk collapse to the ground, the boar was startled and couldn't figure out what just happened to its opponent. However, it did feel a sense of danger and quickly moved to the side.
Right before the elk hit the ground Ethan had jumped off the tree and summoned a sword from the shadow on the trunk, just like he did for the bow and arrows. Once the sword was in his hand he kicked off the trunk and was going to land while slashing the boar's neck.
However, the boar sensed this and moved out of the way, only receiving a slight cut on its neck and nothing else.
"Tch."
Ethan jumped back then got into a fighting stance and waited for the boar to make its move. The boar watched Ethan's movements for a while before it began to kick up the dirt with its foot and began to charge.
Ethan took another deep breath and closed his eyes, following the scent of the wounds it received from the elk and Ethan, along with the sounds it was making. He was tracking every movement it was making until he jumped into the air and opened his eyes.
The boar continued to charge and ran into the trunk of a giant tree because it couldn't stop, however, it quickly collapsed and the fire going down its back went out. Seconds later blood began to spray from its back.
When Ethan jumped he knew that the boar wouldn't be able to stop, so he shoved his sword down and lodged it deep into the boar's back. As it continued to charge it ripped down its spine until it crashed into the tree and died.
Ethan looked back at the boar and collapsed to one knee and began to breathe heavily. He wasn't sure if it was from his first time killing or the excitement of the fight. Though there was also the possibility of the knowledge of his first taste of Mana from the blood of these two.
"You okay?" Ethan suddenly heard Hazel's voice run through his head, since he summoned the bow he had completely forgotten that she was there.
"Yea I'm fine, just a little worn out." Ethan stood up and looked at the two dead Mana Beasts. Then began to move the elk closer to the boar and summoned a knife from the shadows.
He then began to cut open the elk's stomach and began skinning the elk, then cut out several chunks of its meat. Hazel looked at the screen of her gaming console with a bit of confusion.
"What are you doing?"
"You only packed junk food with you and you'll need more than that if you're going to stay a few days in that cave with me. Blue Ice Elk meat won't go bad for months even if it's left out in the sun of a desert."
Ethan knitted his brows again because for some reason he somehow had this knowledge that he shouldn't know. He grabbed the side of his head and his eyes began to gloss over, however, when he could see again he was in a large library.
He couldn't control what he was doing, but he was looking over a large bookcase and took a book off the shelf, then walked over to a desk and sat down. He opened the book called "Northern Mana Beasts" and could see that after a few pages, it was about the Blue Ice Elk.
Suddenly the vision ended and he was back in the forest where Hazel was yelling at him through telepathy. His eyes gained their light again and he looked up and around where he was, then the drone flew into his face to get his attention.
"Ethan!! Answer me, you bastard!!"
Ethan grabbed the side of his head because of the splitting pain going through it. "Yea! I hear you so calm your fucking shit!!"
Hazel back in the cave also grabbed her head because of him yelling through telepathy, however, she knew that it was her own fault for that. She put her hand down and had a solemn look on her face.
"Are you okay? You seemed to go somewhere again."
"Yea, I'm fine. I'm just dazing out."
Ethan sighed then continued cutting out meat from the elk and put it on the skinned hide. However, he then broke off the antlers and put them next to the meat. After that, he moved over to the boar and broke off its tusks, and began cutting it open to remove its Mana Core.
After that, he placed both of those next to the meat and began to send them to the cave through the shadows. Hazel could see the shadows on the floor of the cave began to swirl and move and the parts he harvested began to come up.
Ethan then stood up and put his hand in front of him with his palm facing up, then pointed his index and middle finger up, slowly the spilled blood and the blood from inside the Mana Beast were drawn above his palm.
Once all the blood was gathered he lowered his two fingers and separated all of them. The large globe of blood was then made into five smaller globes, then Ethan closed his hand into a fist and the smaller globes began to compress until they were the size of a golf ball.
After they had compressed he opened his hand back up and the blood began to crystalize until they were completely solid. Then they dropped into his hand.
Ethan picked one up and looked at it for a moment before putting it into his mouth. The taste was surprising to him because he didn't expect it to taste like something familiar to him. Hazel could see that he was surprised when he ate the blood orb.
"Does it taste weird or something?"
"Heh, no it actually reminds me of how we went to the city for your birthday and ate at that Mexican restaurant, where at the end you got that cinnamon ice cream in the crunchy bowl."
"Really?"
Hazel could see a soft smile on his face as he swallowed the orb and ate the other four as well. However, she soon saw him stumble a bit though he caught himself right away. Ethan grabbed the drone and began to sink into the shadows.
That's actually a desert that my family gets a lot when we go to a Mexican resteraunt for one of our birthdays. It's really tasty :3
