Chapter 18: Full Moon Toads.

Toads are one of the weakest race of Monsters in the world that has fallen to chaos, isolation, death and suffering. At morning that is.

There's a sub species of Toads that are called Lunar Frogs that begins to appear nearing night. Once a Lunar Frog makes it to night time, their power will increase significantly.

Once being at Insect-Grade going all the way to Demon or Calamity-Grade Monsters.

They don't even have to be in a ray of the moon light to become so powerful. The moon just has to be in the sky. Also, if they are in a ray of moon light, their power will increase even more.

Calamity-Grade Lunar Frogs only appear when a full moon appears.

Calamity-Grade Monsters have the power to destroy a country or even a continent. Going from Low Continent Level, to High Continent Level.

It was now night time with the graceful and beautiful moon post up in the black and grey sky. With aura of gorgeousness and a blue light that cloak the entire, lively moon.

The pure and white moon filled the dark sky with light despite being night. It also helped that the moon was full and was engulfing the whole view of the city sky.

Kris ventured southwards, heading towards a park.

Snow continued to fall from the dark sky, because of Kris Skill; filling the garage with a thick layer of white fluff.

With his black shirt which was tightly wrapped around his average, pale, yet lean body, supported by his thick black jacket that helf spikey metal exteriors. It all empowered his grey pants and white shoes with red laces and designs.

The attire was not the greatest in the world, but it was Kris's best he had even picked.

His saya that held his divine katana which was wrap around Kris's waist and above his hips. This also complemented his attire.

His katana was a Divine-Grade weapon that had the power the level an entire country. A cyan blue handle that shined even brighter in a ray of light and a golden gem that was implanted in the handles crist. The blade was made out a black gem that made it shin as bright as a diamond. The blade was also flimsy; not even a quarter of a quarter of one centimeter wide.

Approaching the empty, abandoned and isolated park, Kris abruptly halted in his tracks. The snow falling on his exposed head, shoulders that were covered with his furry jacket, and the back of his neck which was uncovered by his jacket.

Outside the park in the freezing cold were naked humanoid creatures. From afar, Kris could see and tell what they were. The sharp, glowing yellow eyes that were fix on him. They had blue reptilian-like flesh that covered their entire arms and white reptilian-like flesh that coated his cheeks, with the rest begin human skin. Either black, white or pale.

With a lump in his throat and a cool sweat on his frosted face, he said out, "Ha! So this is how it fells to be in the presence of a horde of Monsters that can destroy this entire country."

To be put into a power scale, a S-rank student from an Omega School would absolutely be destroyed by a Calamity-Grade Monster, even if it was just a single one. It would take a party of minimum ten S-rank students to kill only one Calamity-Grade Monster.

Kris, a lone survivor who is S-rank by level but not via power, was going to fight an army of these creatures.

It was a match up with two entities clashing together. Kris, a mortal that can't truly die, verses a crew of Monsters that can destroy almost the quarter of the planet. An irremovable object verses an unstoppable force.

Kris let out a sigh in the freezing cold air, which lightly frosted his mouth. "*Sigh*"

His breath melted the frozen air and in return, created steam.

Toads and Lunar Frogs are naturally passive entities that don't attack unless threaten or provoct. So that meant Kris had to make the first play if he wanted to begin this battle.

"You know what," said Kris looking down on his daggers. "These won't do."

Kris place his hand on the handle of his katana and drag it out of his saya.

"To be honest, the only fighting chance that I have against those beast is this thing. I don't even know how I got this," Kris said, placing his forehead on the blade of the katana.

Kris lift down the blade from his forehead.

"I don't even know why I did that."

With his blade, Kris lift it high and swung it downwards, preforming a slash. An areal slash of energy immerged out of his katana. It was as large as the entirely from the ground to the upper atmosphere.

The slash went towards the Lunar Frogs at almost the speed of light. It cut right through everything single thing in its path.

"Wow," said Kris in an astonish tone. He was literally marvelling at the sheer power of this weapon.

Without a care for the three human lives he had ended, Kris said, "And I just got some items from just doing that once."

The one-sided battle for either side commenced. It could be one-sided for Kris or the Lunar Frogs, depending on how they fight.

The humanoid Lunar Frogs charged towards Kris, ready for combat, yet had an expression of lifelessness.

They approached him in organized fashion. The Monsters encompassed him and began to duel him one after another.

The first foe attack. It erect it arm and tried to grab Kris by the face. Unfortunately for it, its opponent was quick on his feet and saw right through its move.

Kris ducked and dodged the attack as a result. He tired and did an upward slash, cutting off the humanoid Frogs arm. Standing in his feet, Kris plunged his weapon into his foe's skull and activated his Aura, sending a wave of energy behind thr Frog, killing everything in its path.

The rest charged at Kris all at once, providing him no time to think. They fully encompassed him, preventing escape.

Seeing his impending doom, Kris flipped into the air sideways.

While upside down in the air, Kris enveloped his weapon in an Aura once again.

He slash horizontally at the Lunar Frogs heads.

All the Monsters at north suddenly had their heads decapitated from their bodies.

"Ha! Too easy," said Kris with a plain look in his face.

Kris suddenly felt something on his side, or inside of it. More accurately his liver.

A sharp pain suddenly engulfed his side, causing havoc in his body.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Time began to move slow. Kris turned his head to look at what was causing such pain in his body.

What he saw was a humanoid Lunar Frog hand implanted in his liver.

"... Shit."

Kris was suddenly blasted away from the city with his liver extracted from his body. He could tell because he was out of the city because the snow wasn't falling anymore and the reason he believed his liver gone was because he felt nothing in his side and a huge gap was there.

Another foe appeared and kneed Kris in the back, sending him flying to the sky. And finally the last blow.

[Warning: Moon Beam has been activated!]

Kris glanced infront of huh and saw a humanoid Lunar Frog. Its hand was enveloped in a cyan light.

The Frog pulled back its fist and launched it forward, shooting out a large beam of white light

Kris could of block it with his saya but he couldn't. It was either because he was slow or the attack was too fast.

The sheer power of the blast evaporated Kris's flesh but sent his equipment and his remains but his ring was destroyed but not his katana and saya.

Before Kris's journey for power, he had only died ninety-seven times. After, Kris died a staggering one thousand and eleven times. Now he had died a total of two thousands.

This allowed him to gain four hundred thousand, forty-four thousand, five hundred more stats.

It was because of his resilience that kept him sane. It it wasn't for his strong will to gain power, he would have gone crazy a long time ago. He would have died in his heart and soul.

The snow had began to melt and evaporate. Twenty four hours had passed, giving Kris sixty-six more hours left on the Quest he had already complete.

Within frozen structures and blazing buildings Kris stood alone and victorious. But their was one more entity left; the boss.

"So you want a piece of me too, huh?" Kris inquired in a plain tone.
