New Roommate

Trevor came home a few minutes before midnight. When he got there, he noticed the presence of someone else in his house. His eyes also caught a few things that were not there when he left.

"She is here," Trevor muttered under his breath.

'Are you nervous, sir? Or... are you scared instead?' teased AI T.

'Me? Of course not.' Trevor quickly straightened his body that had bowed naturally. 'Even though she is my new physical instructor, I am the owner of this house. I am the ruler. So why should I be scared of a guest? Not to mention she is just a college student, so--'

"You arefinally home?!"

The so-called house owner flinched at the sudden greeting from the guest.

Amanda looked so comfortable occupying his sofa. She only wore a tank top and hot pants while holding a bag of chips. While the TV was on with some youth series playing.

"I see you collected quite a number of rewards today. Though, no more than $1,000s," she said nonchalantly, munching on her chips.

"Yeah."

Trevor thought they needed to do some small talk. Maybe it would help him to get closer to her.

"What time did you arrive?"

"This afternoon. Um, maybe around four," Amanda said with her eyes glued to the TV.

"Have you brought all your belongings here?"

"Yeah," she answered shortly.

"How is the place? It's nicer than the old one, isn't it?"

"Kind of."

"Um, anyway, What days are you going to the college? If you want, you can adjust your schedule with mine, so my training won't interfere your studies. Likewise, if you want to play with your friends or--"

"I don't need to do that anymore." Amanda answered in a disturbed tone. "Those just like a time killer until you find me. Now I just need to focus on training you. Just do as I say, we practice at six to nine every morning."

"Oh, okay." Trevor nodded his head. "What if--"

"Just shut up!" He jumped in shock. "I am watching here. Don't you see? I can't focus because you keep asking useful questions!" she snapped indignantly, glaring at him again.

Look? The problem was not on him. The girl was really hard to approach. She was so arrogant and mean to him.

Well, seemed like there was nothing more he could do. Maybe he just needed to absorb knowledge from the special agent rather than thinking about getting along with her. At least he had tried.

"That's fine. It's up to you then. As long as we don't offend each other, let's live peacefully in this house as student and instructor. That's the most important thing, right?"

That's what Trevor said before walking into his room. Maybe it was better to rest than talk to his new roommate who was still behaving like a teenager in her puberty like her.

'Your cousin will be living with you from today? Ugh, too bad. I really like your place, though. I thought we could play some more in there and do this and that again like yesterday. But it seems like it's no longer possible.'

Trevor smirked at Melanie's teasing tone. Even though they were talking on the phone, he could imagine her seductive smile when saying that.

"Of course we can still meet, Mel. We can stay at a five star hotel if you want. Or... if you don't mind I want to visit your place too."

Trevor responded to her while wiping his wet hair. He did get a call from the sexy woman sometime after he finished taking a shower.

'That's not a bad idea. But you have to know that my place is very different from yours, Trev. I hope you won't be disappointed when you have a visit later.'

"That's fine with me. All I need is to be with you."

Trevor spent several minutes joking and flirting with the woman. After feeling enough, they ended the call. They agreed to talk later.

Trevor could not help but smile remembering their conversation. He kept humming happily.

'It seems you have completely forgotten about Anne Jacob, sir. I thought you would really look for her.'

As usual, AI T always pulled him back to earth. His virtual assistant has been crankier lately than his late mother.

"Please don't be a joy killer, AI T. I told you I would just live it like the water flows." Trevor intended to get beer from the mini fridge in his room, but he just remembered that the stock was running out. "After all, you know how very busy my life lately. I have to do missions and train physically. Weren't you the one who suggested that I always look for stress relievers to control my energy? Why are you even protesting now?"

'I do not protest, sir. I am just trying to remind you so you don't regret what you did later.'

"I won't."

Trevor left the room to get the beer in the kitchen. To do so, he had to go through the living room, where the physical training special agent was still enjoying her favorite TV show.

'At this rate she looks like an ordinary young girl who still likes clichéd things, but why can't she be as cute as girls her age?'

Trevor thought so when he passed her. He didn't want to talk to her again because he did not want to be nagged again like before.

When he got to the kitchen, the man gasped in surprise. His belongings like wine, beer, and snacks, have all been arranged in a cupboard outside the refrigerator. When he opened it, it was filled with other foodstuffs such as bread, milk, and butter.

"How can she casually get rid of my belongings when she is just staying here?" Trevor grumbled again in annoyance.

'I am surprised too, sir.' AI T chimed in. 'But maybe, it's because she brought too many things, that--'

"No. This is unacceptable. After all, she cannot behave like this at SOMEONE ELSE'S PLACE. She should know herself at least." Trevor closed the refrigerator door in annoyance. His eyes were as a flame of fire. "I have to talk to her."

'But Sir, I am afraid that this will become a problem later--'

"I don't care. She is the one who is looking for trouble. It doesn't matter even if she is a special agent or even an ancestor, but she must know manners when living together."

'But, sir. You must be careful.'

He ignored AI T's warning. He was so determined to meet his annoying roommate in the living room and scold her a bit. It seemed like they needed to talk about the cohabitation agreements before getting further.

But just a few steps, when he was about to pass through the door frame, he tripped over something that almost made him fall.

"Shit, what else is th--"

Trevor cursed and intended to kick whatever it was, but his eyes widened when he realized the object in question. Because instead of a random item like a shoe, it was something he had not imagined at all.

"S-SNAKE?!" Trevor had never screamed more hysterically before. "HOW THE FUCK IS A SNAKE HERE?!"
