Some Luck is Under The Façade of Defeat

Since Soul Practitioners have only focused on cultivating their mental strength hence, they are physically weak. Princess Hong Mei gains an upper hand in physical combat despite her lack of experience in a real fight. But this is only because her soul is different! Under the attack of the Soul Practitioners, she was unharmed. If she had not been transmigrated from the modern world, those Soul Practitioners would have easily beaten her in just a blink of an eye.

The Soul Practitioners directly lost their consciousness after the swift and precise attack of Princess Hong Mei. No tremendous force was exerted but she aimed the abdomen and neck which knocked her enemies down effortlessly.

On the other side, Jia Liuha also possessed an unparalleled speed.

Princess Hong Mei focused her eyes on the little girl's movement and noticed that it is soft but fast and every intruder that came in contact with her had ended up limping in pain on the ground. Jia Liuha does not also look like she is fighting. Her movements are far from brutality that martial artist are famed. To an ordinary observer, it would seem like she is gracefully dancing!

Princess Hong Mei could not help but admire her movements as she is in deep thought, 'This little girl is somewhat performing some Tai Chi drills!'

"How is it, sister?" Jia Liuha asked after she disabled those thousands of opponents. Even General Fang was not spared!

Princess Hong Mei raised two of her thumbs and nod her head in approval.

"We cannot spare this kind of people. It would be dangerous if they fight back once they gain consciousness. The poison expert, come out!" Princess Hong Mei stated and immediately called one of her allies.

"Princess, what are your instructions?" the poison expert immediately appeared from her back.

"Do you have a poison that could make these people gone?" Princess Hong Mei asked while pointing at the Soul Practitioners on the ground. The disabled soldiers who heard her question were immediately frozen with their eyes wide open. Fear slowly rose in their heart.

"Yes, I have. This concoction is called a Drop of Death. This bottle contains eight different kinds of deadly poison and is so precious, how much are you willing to pay, Princess?" the poison expert asked.

Princess Hong Mei laughed genuinely before responding to the poison expert, "I like your attitude. How about we become a business partner?"

"Princess, becoming your business partner is way beyond my imagination. Since you have offered, I shall accept it." the poison expert joyfully said and give the bottle to Princess Hong Mei.

This poison expert was banished from the Black Clan, the famous poison clan in the entire continent. She was supposed to be married to the eldest son of the patriarch of the Black Clan. Unfortunately, her supposed husband died before her wedding under the scheme of their clan's enemy. After the death of the man, she was accused of poisoning him. Because of her ability, the patriarch did not dare kill her. He just expelled her.

She wandered from one empire to another for a little while until she reached the Hong Empire where she was amazed by how people do their business. She tried selling medicines in the capital and was able to gain a small but steady profit. Then she heard the news about the invaders coming to the capital so she willingly offered her alliance in exchange for the reward. It was indeed beyond her imagination that the most successful business figure in the Hong Empire will notice her and offer a partnership!

"It's good that you agree. Hahaha" Princess Hong Mei was delighted after hearing her response.

"Little girl, grab all the jewelry and the items in the pocket of these people." Princess Hong Mei looked at the little girl and saw her face turned sour.

"Sister, do you mean I will steal their things?" Jia Liuha whispered near her. There is a slight disgust that is evident in her tone.

"Little girl, the things they own will be their payment for attacking us. Besides, all of them will be dead soon, so you don't need to feel guilty about stealing them."

Jia Liuha nodded in understanding and then grab each jewelry and money from the unconscious Soul Practitioners. Meanwhile, Princess Hong Mei then took the bottle containing the Drop of Death and tested it to the nearest body.

Soon, with just a single drip from the bottle, one of the Soul Practitioner had gradually dissolved and turned into a pungent mud.

"This product is efficient!" Princess Hong Mei praised the effect while covering her nose.

"Yes, it's a scary object!" Jia Liuha innocently said.

Not long after, all the bodies of Soul Practitioner were gone. Not even a single bone can be found!

The disabled soldiers who witnessed what had just happened have felt tremendous terror. Some of them have fainted while others also peed on their trousers. General Fang was also gasping for air.

"Now, for these invading soldiers... I have an offer that none of you are allowed to bargain. Your life depends on your payment. If you can pay, I will make a consideration and those who pledge their loyalty as one of the Hong Soldiers will be spared." Princess Hong Mei announced.

"Princess I swear to be loyal to you!" one of the soldiers stated in a hurry.

"What about your payment?" the Princess asked the man.

"Here is a heritage pendant that is passed from generations of my family. Whoever wears this will have tremendous luck!" the soldier answered.

"If that pendant will bring luck to whoever wears it, then what happened to you?" the poison expert commented in sarcasm.

Surely, if the object brings luck, how did he lose against the little girl?

"Well, some luck is under the façade of defeat." the soldier responded meaningfully.

"Indeed, not all disaster meant bad luck!" the poison expert had fully grasped what the soldier said and somewhat relates what he meant. In her life, she was banished but now she lives free from the responsibility of her clan.

"Alright! You will serve the Hong Empire until death. Surrender your other things also." Princess Hong Mei declared. But the man shook his head and explained that he has no other possession. He only handed to her the pendant with an ordinary vine that serves as the tie making it a necklace.

Jia Liuha grabbed the pendant and examined it closely. It was a tiny circular jade with a red on the center.

"This--!" Jia Liuha exclaimed after looking at the object. Princess Hong Mei looked at her with a questioning look.

"Nothing... Hehe, Sister, I like this object. Can I have this?" the little girl asked sheepishly towards her. Princess Hong Mei glared her eyes for a few breaths. She intended to give the little girl a warning look but Jia Liuha was not intimidated by her look and continues to put on the necklace.

The princess could not help but sigh as she diverted her attention back to the invaders. She then continued her exploitation of the soldiers invading her territories with an intention to gain huge profits.
